This Second Chance Month, CTA is proud to uplift and invest in the futures of our Second Chance Program participants.   So far this April, we've hosted two powerful workshops: -An Expungement Workshop where apprentices received hands-on legal guidance -A Financial Fortitude session focused on building financial literacy and long-term stability And we’re not done yet. The Chicago Transit Authority 2025 Small Business Educational Series, a 9-week cohort, concluded with graduation on Tuesday, April 9, 2025, at CTA Headquarters. CTA Acting President Nora Leerhsen was the keynote speaker for the ceremony and recognized the 22 program participants as dedicated business owners who invest not only in their businesses, but also in themselves and their communities. This program continues to deliver on its promise to increase the economic benefits of transit investment in the communities we serve. The graduates of the 2025 series gained essential skills and certifications that position them to be involved in CTA projects like the Red Line Extension (RLE), All Stations Accessibility Program (ASAP), and Forest Park Rebuild. The Small Business Educational Series has over 100 graduates since its inception in 2017. #ChicagoTransitAuthority #TeamCTA #WeMoveChicago #SmallBusinessEducation

This past Wednesday, CTA proudly celebrated the graduation of 95 team members from the Bus Maintenance, Bus Operations, Rail Operations, and Rail Station Management departments.   Surrounded by supportive friends, family, and department leaders—including Acting President Nora Leerhsen—the graduates were recognized for their hard work and dedication.   We look forward to seeing the incredible ways these individuals will continue to grow and help keep Chicago moving. #ChicagoTransitAuthority #TeamCTA #WeMoveChicago #IAmTransitTalent

High school students from Thornton Township High School District 205, Thornton Fractional High School District 215, and Bremen Community High School District 228, college students from South Suburban College, and far south job seekers in construction totaled 261 attendees at the SSC Kindig Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 28th.   CTA welcomed 28 exhibitors including its workforce partner agencies Chicago Women in Trades, Hire360, Metropolitan Family Services and Revolution Workshop, prime contractors WALSH VINCI, Redefine Southside Partners-Joint Venture, Granite Construction and SYSTRA/EXP, six building trades, including IBEW Local 134, IUOE Local 150, Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 73, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, and several pre-apprenticeship trainers including EDDR FOUNDATION and Powering Chicago.   CTA thanks its special guest host Streetz 95.1 and CPS vendor ChiTownFoodTrucks for helping make this event a great learning experience for all interested in construction careers.    #ChicagoTransitAuthority #Transit #TeamCTA #WeMoveChicago

We are proud to announce that 3 of our own CTA team members were selected to participate in the Eno Center for Transportation Transit Senior Executive Program this past March. We'd like to congratulate Vice President of Rail Operations Jeannie C.
