About us
Charm Industrial is working to return the atmosphere to 280 ppm CO₂. We design, build and operate a fleet of mobile fast pyrolyzers that convert ag and forest biomass residues into Charm Bio-oil and Charm Biochar for use in permanent carbon removal. At scale, Charm Bio-oil can be used to reduce iron ore into metallic iron to help decarbonize industrial emissions from steelmaking. In 2020, our Chief Scientist and co-founder had a breakthrough to sequester bio-oil that kickstarted the company. Within 10 months we completed our first carbon removal injection and we have completed more than 7,200 tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent removal for customers like Stripe, Shopify, JP Morgan and Microsoft. Charm leads the industry with a transparent ledger and helped build a verification model that reduces the risk of over-crediting. Charm isn’t just removing carbon, we’re also improving communities and ecosystems we operate in today. Charm partners with communities to create new jobs, reduce wildfire risk, improve air quality, and safely close abandoned oil wells.

Please bow to the new Charm GOAT 🙇🐐 The Charm GOAT is crowned atop our carbon removal machine (pyrolyzer) that holds the longest continuous production run, reducing the need for turnarounds and downtime. More uptime = more carbon removal. This past month, the Charm GOAT was crowned not once but TWICE...with two different pyrolyzers with record-setting runs spanning nearly 5 days 🥵 Production uptime is a key metric we're focused on this year at Charm Industrial as we scale up carbon removal operations. Uptime means our mobile fleet of carbon removal machines are producing carbon-rich bio-oil that permanently remove carbon from the atmosphere. And by running a 24/7 operation with our fleet, we're able to learn what causes downtime for different machines and optimize our operations accordingly. A huge benefit we have as a dispatchable, mobile modular approach to carbon removal. When we started commissioning our new fleet last year, the GOAT record was set 8 hours. By December we'd tripled to 24 hours. This past Feb '25 we hit 3 days. And now two of our machines achieved 5 continuous days in March! With records being set every week, WHO will be crowned the next Charm GOAT?
