Sure, the The Cooper River Bridge Run comes with a scenic view, but we're partial to what you can see from the James Island Connector! 📷 Plum Island Wastewater Treatment Plant

As the weather warms up, we’re keeping a close eye on our source water in our Bushy Park Reservoir! Warmer temps can affect water quality, so we’re testing the water more often. We also maintain the system that pulls water into our treatment plant—like tightening chains on debris booms to keep floating junk out. Some vegetation still sneaks through, but we clear it to keep things running smoothly. These routine checkups help ensure clean, reliable water for you! #CharlestonWaterConnects

We joined a meeting of experts from across S.C. with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources & South Carolina Emergency Management Division to plan for how we handle droughts—from the first signs of dry weather to an emergency situation. This helps ensure we have enough raw water to treat and turn into safe drinking water for everyone. Being ready means we can respond faster and protect our water supply! #CharlestonWaterConnects

Thank you to The Post and Courier for publishing our response! “It’s important to know that Plum Island discharges treated water that is nine times cleaner than recreational water quality standards and three times cleaner than our NPDES permit limit, which makes us Charleston’s single greatest environmental protector.” https://lnkd.in/ek3nd9x5
