This week, we honor the voices you rarely see but always hear—our telecommunicators. They’re the calm in the chaos, the steady voice in your most frightening moments, and the first lifeline when every second counts. Our telecommunicators are truly our first first responders—guiding help to your door, comforting callers, and supporting first responders in the field, all while staying behind the scenes. During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we’re shining a spotlight on their heart, dedication, and resilience. Follow along at Charleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center to see how they’re celebrating—and if you get a moment, drop a message of thanks. Your words mean more than you know. #NPSTW #FirstFirstResponders #ThankYouDispatch #BehindTheHeadset #UnsungHeroes

It’s #NationalPetDay, and we’re paws-itively obsessed with our furry friends! From woofs to meows (and everything in between), our Emergency Management team is showing off the real MVPs at home—our pets! While you’re loving on your furry friends today, take a minute to make sure they’re part of your emergency plan too! If you ever have to leave home in a hurry, your pet needs a go-bag too. Pack these paw-sentials: • Food & water for at least 3 days (plus treats, obviously) • Medications & vet info • Leash, collar, carrier • Favorite toy or blanket • Waste bags or litter • A recent photo of you with your pet (just in case) Remember: If you gotta go, they gotta go too. Be pawpared! Check out our team’s adorable pets and drop a pic of yours in the comments—we’d love to see them! #PetPreparedness #PawparedNotScared #FurFamFirst #CCCEMD #ReadyPets #EmergencyReady #PawsAndPlan #CCEMD
