#ICYMI: A Garden Grows in South Merced! With support from the Central Valley Opportunity Fund, the NAACP Merced County Branch and Saint Matthew Baptist Church have launched The People’s Garden, a new community-driven space bringing fresh produce, sustainable gardening education, and food security to South Merced. Located on church grounds, the garden is already growing more than just food, its cultivating connection, resilience, and opportunity in a neighborhood that’s long been impacted by limited access to healthy options. Together, volunteers are cultivating more than just fruits and veggies, they’re growing opportunity, resilience, and hope. On Friday we kicked off our first Council of Business Sponsors convening of the year and what a powerful start it was. Together, we explored the bold vision of Sierra San Joaquin Jobs, a 20-year regional economic development initiative designed to uplift Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings counties. Modeled after Fresno DRIVE, this initiative aims to transform our region’s economy and lay the foundation for sustainable, inclusive growth. Thank you to everyone who joined us today to help shape the future of our region. Let’s keep the momentum going. #S2J2Inititative #CentralValleyCF
