We recently had the pleasure of hosting our ECMO Graduate Picnic! 💙 ECMO, known as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, provides breathing and heart support for young patients with life-threatening lung or heart problems that critically reduce or even prevent their ability to breathe or pump enough blood to their body. With great care from our Valley Children’s team, our ECMO graduates not only survived, but are now thriving! More than 70 ECMO graduates enjoyed a day filled with fun and connection with other fellow ECMO heroes and celebrated a generous pledge of support from our Guilds!

We are thrilled to share Valley Children's Pediartic Residents Dr. Hannah Pulido, Dr. Nihaal Shah and Dr. Tina Hansen-Sackey have had abstracts accepted to the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting later this month 🎉 These residents will share their significant displays of pediatric expertise at this international meeting, which brings together thousands of pediatricians and other healthcare providers united by a common mission to improve the health and well-being of children worldwide. Congratulations to these residents and their mentor Pediatric Neonatologist Dr. Fredrick Dapaah Siakwan, whose expertise has been instrumental in their success!

Our network of pediatric care specialty and primary care providers are dedicated to our mission of providing the best care to children closer to home. Today is #CertifiedNursesDay and we are recognizing the more than 400 certified nurses throughout our organization! These nurses use their advanced skills, dedication and professional excellence to ensure our patients receive high-quality treatment every day! 💙 To celebrate, this group got special t-shirts and a an afternoon filled with a delicious charcuterie spread with an appearance from everyone’s favorite giraffe! 🦒 Thank you to our certified nurses!

People who enter the medical field are following a calling from the heart.
