Nice review, showing PRP plus HA may have more improvements medium and long term vs PRP alone for knee OA. Interesting that they suggested injecting PRP first then HA a week later may be an ideal sequence. https://lnkd.in/gQUbGwYY

Seeing long-term results for knee OA with PRP are great with 10B+ platelets but also here is multi-level DDD with facet OA - treated in 2019 -- presents today for repeat treatment: 5+ years of great benefit with 5-10B platelets into facets; 1-3B into epidural space (bilat S1, L4-5: 10cc total epidurally); ligaments Prolo; PPP multifidus -- Full FSU (extradiscal) happy friday !

It's absurd that expensive treatments like this, which look sophisticated but are likely useless, are still being performed by providers who obviously don't attend conferences like IOF or TOBI.

What's the impact of a 20% knee IA miss rate in a blind PRP study? It turns out it's huge when you model it. If you can't figure out how to use ultrasound to inject, please don't perform an IO study!

64yoM told by his PCP he need cervical ADR or fusion based on below 2nd MRI. Meanwhile patient has had severe C5-6 stenosis from DDD and retrolisthesis from military injury for at least 10 yrs- first MRI. I treated him 8 years ago for neck pain with arm radiation. We did high concentration Platelet lysate (PL) to the symptomatic C5-7 facets, interlaminar with PL and prolo to the supra and interspinous ligaments. He has been pain free for 8.5 yrs until slight neck and radicular pain returning. Likely another PL/ PRP tune up with PT for neck curve loss strengthening etc will give him more yrs of pain free living with no drugs, steroids, and no surgery. Treat the patient not MRI. PRP works in the cervical spine!
