This is why we do the work we do at CCSI -- making a difference in the lives of people in our community through the work we do on behalf of our clients. Thanks to Ben Blair and the whole #EngagingFathers team for their commitment!
This week, I was reminded just how important it is for fathers to have advocates in their corner, people willing to go the extra mile to help them achieve their goals. I had the opportunity to advocate for a father who was rejected from a program crucial to his family's reunification. After he received notice that his application would be closed, I stepped in and found an oversight in the rejection letter. On Monday, we received word that despite this never happening before, they acknowledged the oversight and agreed to readmit the father into the program. Shortly after, I received this heartfelt message from him: "God bless you… you are the man! Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate you for fighting back on this." Moments like these are incredibly rewarding. Seeing how advocacy and extra effort can create positive and real change is what makes me proud to be part of the Engaging Fathers and Young Men Program(Steven Shannon,Jentavious Sampson@Emmanuel Coleman)#EngagingFathers
