How do you confidently write business in high-risk regions? For Standard Casualty Company, the answer lies in understanding not just the storm exposure—but how each property is likely to perform. “We may have two risks that are located right next to one another, where one would be acceptable and the other would not, and that kind of granularity is really a game changer for us in terms of underwriting.” — Richard E Smith, CPCU, Underwriting Manager at Standard Casualty With regulatory approvals in 14 states and counting, ZestyAI’s hail and wind models provide insurers like Standard Casualty the transparency, precision, and confidence they need to make data-backed decisions in catastrophe-prone areas. • Sadly, retired Standard Casualty Company Vice President of Operations Dale von der Luft, SCLA passed away on Sunday, March 9th while visiting his son in Kansas City, Missouri. Dale joined Standard Casualty Company in July 2016 as the Vice President of Operations and immediately made a positive impact on the team. In addition to managing Standard Casualty’s operations in New Braunfels, Texas, Dale played an important role in key decisions related to underwriting and claims. Prior to joining Standard Casualty in 2016, Dale, a 33-year insurance industry veteran, worked for Geico and Farmers Insurance. Dale’s contributions, including the wealth of knowledge he passed on to those around him, were invaluable to Standard Casualty. “Everyone knew Dale had a big personality,” said Elisha Hanna, Division HR Director and Treasury Manager, Standard Casualty Company, “but what he didn't show very often was his big heart. He loved his friends and family and was always there for them. He’s my buddy, and I'm going to miss him and our conversations.” “I just loved Dale and am heartbroken by his passing,” said Steven Like, Senior Vice President, Cavco Corporate. “I am so grateful for the insight and leadership he brought to Standard Casualty. He was instrumental in so many positive changes that helped Standard once again get moving in a positive direction and set us up for the future. He worked tirelessly to make sure he got things done correctly, and on time. It would be impossible to over-state the role he played at Standard.” “Dale was a people person who constantly looked out for his employees.” said Rick Smith, Underwriting Manager, Standard Casualty Company. “He saw his role as being more than just about leadership, but in shepherding his employees. Although the work was important to him, the people and the relationships were far more important. His guidance and direction will be missed.” Said Stan Hatcher, Director of Claims, Standard Casualty Company: “Dale has been a good friend and a mentor. He hired me as a new adjuster about 18 years ago when we worked for Foremost Insurance Company and has been instrumental in my leadership development that helped me advance in my career. Dale was a wealth of knowledge when it came to the insurance business. He cared about Standard Insurance and loved his wife and boys.” Thanks, Dale, for what you meant to Standard Casualty Company and to so many people. You will be missed.

  • The 2025 Biloxi Manufactured Housing Show in Mississippi was another opportunity for Cavco Industries, Inc. to demonstrate innovation and industry leadership.   The nine homes we brought to the show displayed our commitment to providing unmatched value with exceptional, livable design. Over the course of three days, we saw the heavy traffic, sold floors and successfully set up 7 new retailers -- with even more to come.   Once again, our national products (the Helix, Atmos and Vivid) generated a lot of buzz. To get another perspective on the show's success, we spoke with Eric Coulter, Vice President of Sales at Cavco Industries, Inc. Eric said, "I want to give a huge shoutout to our Innovation and Marketing Teams: Wade Wells, Vice President of Manufacturing, Lafayette, Cody Grissom, Director Regional Sales, Lafayette, Colleen Rogers, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications and the Marketing team — and, of course, our incredible plant teams and our designers for ensuring we continue to stand out and set the industry standard. Your dedication and excellence are what make these achievements possible."    Let’s keep this momentum going! #affordablehousing #biloximanufacturedhousingshow #marketing #manufacturing

  • While at the Biloxi Home Show earlier this week, Cavco President and CEO Bill Boor joined CNBC’s ‘The Exchange’ with Kelly Evans for a live interview to discuss the growing need for affordable housing, challenges in the housing market and how Cavco’s unique strengths are driving success — even in a tough economy. Did you know? - Cavco Industries builds homes at approximately 30% of the cost of site-built homes.  - The company’s stock is rising due to the high demand for affordable housing.  - The average selling price of a Cavco single section home in Q4 was under $100,000.  - Business is strong across the U.S., particularly in the Southeast and Sun Belt.  - Since 2008, housing in the U.S. has been underbuilt, with only 35% of households able to afford current median home prices. Watch the full interview below and let us know if you learned anything new in the comments! #manufacturing #affordablehousing

  • As we wrap the 2025 Biloxi show, we want to extend our gratitude to everyone that helped make this fantastic event possible. This year we brought 9 houses from 5 of our builders in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. And it's always incredible to see how each plant brings their A game show after show! If you are a partner who helped us put the show together or an attendee that stopped by to see us, we appreciate you! Keep an eye on our feed for home tours providing a deeper look back at the show.  But for now, here’s a quick recap from the Cavco Event Team. #biloximanufacturedhousingshow #tradeshow #manufacturing

  • Our Cavco teams from across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast are heading to the 2025 Biloxi Manufactured Housing Show & Expo on March 17 — 19 at the IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi.   Cavco Industries, Inc. is bringing nine of our standout home models, including our newest nationally available double wide homes, the Atmos by Fleetwood Homes, Lafayette, TN and the Vivid by Fleetwood Homes, Douglas, GA. We'll also be debuting our first single wide national product, The Helix!   The Palm Harbor Homes, Plant City, FL team will be exhibiting a home for the first time this year — the Davan, an amazing double wide home. To learn more, we asked Mark Kelly, General Manager, Plant City, about it.    “Our team is excited to be a part of the 2025 Biloxi Show Cavco exhibit,” Mark said. “We’ve participated in previous Biloxi shows by manning a booth, but it’s much more exciting to bring one of our signature, private property Elite Series homes to this show. We’re looking forward to meeting with retailers and industry personnel to bring this outstanding product to the Southeast markets outside of Florida.”  See you next week with more updates and tours of these new models! This is one you won't want to miss. #tradeshow #manufacturedhousing #biloxi
