The California Energy Commission, which is the state’s primary energy policy and planning agency, is committed to reducing energy costs and environmental impacts of energy use - such as greenhouse gas emissions - while ensuring a safe, resilient, and reliable supply of energy. Established in 1974, the Energy Commission has seven core responsibilities: advancing state energy policy, encouraging energy efficiency, certifying thermal power plants, investing in energy innovation, developing renewable energy, transforming transportation and preparing for energy emergencies.

  • #CalEnergy is seeking multiple Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Specialists in our Fuels and Transportation Division! 🚗 The Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Specialists will have the opportunity to work on zero-emission vehicle infrastructure planning and deployment. The specialists will help administer the Clean Transportation Program, which is investing more than $1 billion to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transportation infrastructure and support in-state manufacturing and workforce training and development. The positions will serve in the Passenger Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Branch under the Equitable EV Infrastructure Access and Corridors Unit, which emphasizes large-scale and rapid deployment of infrastructure. It works with third-party implementers on rebate projects that play a key role in advancing standards, technology requirements and expediting the state’s ZEV and infrastructure transition. 💡 These specialists will act as the Energy Commission’s project managers for agreements and will work with the unit on block grants to accelerate deployment of EV charging infrastructure. The work entails close coordination with third-party block grant implementers, evaluating policy design and implementation proposals, participating in regular strategy and coordination calls; evaluating Key Performance Indicators and implementation success and challenges; and recommending action to Energy Commission management. The positions will help to develop solicitations, score proposals, develop and manage funding agreements. 📢 Strong project management experience, exceptional communication skills, and experience with contracts or agreements will be essential in this role.
