Today marks a special milestone that still feels surreal to me: It has been one year since we announced our breakthrough partnership with the inimitable Dr. Jane Goodall. There is no better time to celebrate the remarkable series of events that made this possible than today, Jane’s 91st birthday. None of us could have imagined where this incredible connection and collaboration with Jane would lead. What started as a conversation about shared values and environmental stewardship has transformed into one of the most meaningful collaborations in our company's 20-year history. This past year has unfolded in ways we never could have predicted. Our award-winning San Francisco design team designed the Jane Goodall Collection, drawing inspiration from Jane's beloved Tanzania. Every material was chosen with intention, from our planet-first Carbon Capture lab diamonds to the repurposed gold settings. Most importantly, we pledged 10% of all proceeds to The Jane Goodall Institute, supporting their vital work protecting habitats and inspiring future environmental leaders — a pursuit Jane and I have passionately discussed during our many conversations. We also found ourselves on an unforgettable journey in Tanzania together, introducing our families and witnessing firsthand the multigenerational impacts of our partnership. Everyone still reminisces about how we all jumped in the tub for an impromptu icebreaker — immediately fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy from the very beginning of our time together (photo below!). This partnership embodies the vision that has guided me since founding Brilliant Earth 20 years ago — and in the spirit of Earth Month, I hope it inspires a collective effort to protect the planet for future generations. As Dr. Goodall often reminds us, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." The remarkable path that brought us together continues to unfold in beautiful and surprising ways. Happy Birthday, Jane! Here's to many more unexpected adventures and moments of positive change.

Compassion has been core to Brilliant Earth’s mission since day one. We’re proud to provide our employees with various opportunities to give back to their communities. Recently, our Denver team volunteered at We Don't Waste, an organization that increases food access and protects the planet by rescuing and repurposing food, while educating and advocating to increase food security and decrease food waste. Each month We Don't Waste organizes a walk-up food market, serving hundreds of families from Fitzsimons, Delmar, and Hoffman Heights neighborhoods. Yesterday, we were proud to share our 2024 Mission Report, which showcases remarkable progress across our mission pillars. As we celebrate 20 years of industry leadership, this report not only highlights our achievements but also outlines our ambitious, forward-looking goals that will continue to define our path.    Brilliant Earth Co-Founder and CEO Beth Gerstein shares her reflections on this milestone below:  "This year forged new strengths and revealed the true power of our team. Our partnership with Dr. Jane Goodall and the work of the Brilliant Earth Foundation have shown us that when we stay focused on our shared purpose, we can create lasting positive change.     With our partners, we served meals to over 900 schoolchildren in Tanzania, planted over 2,000 saplings in the Peruvian Amazon to combat mercury-related deforestation, and supported artisanal women miners in Kenya to expand their entrepreneurial pursuits.     We received validation on our net-zero goals by the Science Based Targets initiative in under a year.
