As a leading innovator in the surgical treatment of bone fractures, the AO each year hosts over 850 educational events featuring nearly 8,000 faculty, reaching more than 70,000 participants and supporting 20,000 surgeon members across various surgical specialties. In the early 2000s, BoneFoam too was founded by a surgeon around a clinical need: To address the archaic standards of patient positioning that undermine operative efficiencies, technique, and safety.
