Today, BNY announced first quarter 2025 financial results. CEO Robin Vince commented: “BNY delivered a very solid performance in the first quarter, with total revenue of $4.8 billion, up 6% year-over-year. Enabled by our new commercial coverage approach and the phased transition to our strategic platforms operating model we can see tangible progress on delivering more integrated client solutions from across the entire company. Our steady execution on BNY’s ongoing transformation continued as we built on the momentum with which we entered the year. Significant positive operating leverage resulted in an improved pre-tax margin of 32% and an ROTCE of 24%. Looking ahead, we are prepared for a wide range of macroeconomic and market scenarios as the outlook for the operating environment is becoming more uncertain. Earlier this week, BNY welcomed leaders from Standard Bank Group who made the journey from South Africa for a summit at our New York City headquarters to celebrate 25 years of strategic collaboration to help drive commercial success in #Africa and beyond. 🤝   Our Head of International, Hani Kablawi, delivered opening remarks underscoring the deep and lasting relationship with Standard Bank Group followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders from both firms centered on the topic ‘Community is Commercial’ – a fitting theme during #BNY’s Community Month.   Moderator Obinna Obilo and panelists Crosby Mkhwanazi, Lindeka Dzedze, Steven Lake and Morgan Bass Roper highlighted our combined commercial successes as a result of our alliance, along with the work we do collectively and individually to positively impact the communities where we work and live. It's Community Month at BNY. 🤗 To kick off the global, enterprise-wide initiative as part of our charitable giving program, Giving at BNY, we hosted a variety of events earlier this week focused on volunteerism and understanding the many ways we can individually and collectively uplift the communities we work and live in. The morning began with a fireside chat led by Jose Minaya, executive sponsor of Community Month, alongside Richard Buery Jr., CEO of The Robin Hood Foundation and Richard Fitzgerald, Principal, Apollo Global Management, Inc. – a BNY client. The trio discussed Robin Hood’s leading role in the fight against poverty in #NYC and how Giving at BNY and Dreyfus SPARK℠ Shares empower individuals and organizations to support the causes most important to them.
