Blessings in a Backpack

Last month, Blessings in a Backpack, Frederick Chapter hosted its annual Race to Feed Frederick event at Frederick Community College. Ninety participants packed 2,400 bags of food, and 55 volunteers donated 192.5 hours of service. Together, we raised more than $10,500 to support hunger-free weekends for children in Frederick County. This event is a testament to what’s possible when a community unites for a cause. When life gives you lemons… make lemon cake! 🍋🍰 On #NationalLemonChiffonCakeDay, we're throwing it back to the First Coast SOUPer Bowl, where Red Robin brought the perfect citrusy twist to the event! Not only did they serve up some refreshing lemonade, but their lemon cake was a fan favorite—so much so that someone even reached out afterward to ask how to order it! Huge thanks to Chris, GM of Jax Red Robin, and the whole team for making the event even sweeter.

Food is medicine, and thanks to our incredible partner, Elevance Health, thousands of kids nationwide are getting the nourishment they need. Since 2019, #ElevanceHealth has donated $495,000, helping provide 100,672 hunger-free weekends for children facing food insecurity.
