An innovative, ultrasonic osteotome that reduces the incidence of skipping and skiving, BoneScalpel has a thin kerf allowing for the preservation of healthy bone and reducing blood loss.¹ The blunt blade’s longitudinal motion enables fast, precise² en-bloc dissection and osseous resections in spinal decompression and deformity applications. BoneScalpel allows for osteotomies that are soft-tissue sparing, reducing dural tears¹ and other collateral damage.³ This means surgeons can do what is needed near critical structures like nerves and the dura.  𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼: SurgicalMarketing@Bioventus.com#OrthopedicSurgery #NeuroSurgery #BoneScalpel

Last week in Detroit, we proudly attended a unique neurosurgery and ophthalmology course at Henry Ford Health. Our gratitude to Cristian Cerritos for introducing us to this core academic center! In a lab where the microhook shaver was highly utilized, 15 ophthalmology residents and 13 neuro residents received hands-on BoneScalpel® and SonaStar® Elite experience in skull-based procedures. The Bioventus team also enjoyed demonstrating MIS techniques using BoneScalpel Access and educating participants about physician and patient benefits OSTEOAMP® Flowable allograft. #Neurosurgery #Oncology #MedEd #Training

At its core, the versatile Nexus aspirator provides precise and selective tissue management through a proprietary digital algorithm. It efficiently tracks the frequency of the handpiece and tip, allowing improved control and resulting in consistent and powerful resection of both hard and soft tissue. Operating room staff appreciates the easy setup of the Nexus platform, which is a breeze to maintain and operate. The large, intuitive touchscreen and onboard software allows real-time troubleshooting and may reduce procedure delays. Hospital administration will appreciate the savings afforded by vendor consolidation. As one of the most robust ultrasonic platforms on the market, Nexus supports spine/neuro, general surgery, wound, CMF/OMF, F&A , and general orthopaedics. Various handpieces offer functionality for many specialties, allowing Nexus to serve in a broad array of procedures in many hospital departments. • Last weekend Trenton Mizinski and Mitch Stotler attended the Ohio State University Sacrum and Pelvis Course, partnering with SI-Bone through a grant and gift-in-kind equipment initiative. The event included six attendees, four fellows, and eight residents, who appreciated the hands-on experience with the BoneScalpel® serrated and 25mm blades given the course’s sacrum/pelvis theme. Advancing Bioventus surgical education, our team supported six stations with BoneScalpel and BoneScalpel Access® and also showcased SonaStar Elite® at secondary demo stations. #NeuroSurgery #OrthopedicSurgery #MedEd #Training
