Bowlin’ on the River in support of Junior Achievement (JA) Memphis 🎳 30 of our Memphis team, hit the lanes to support JA’s most recent Bowl-A-Thon. Hosted at a local bowling alley, the event raises funds for education programs that serve the city’s elementary, middle and high schools. We’ve been working with JA Memphis since 2003, supporting initiatives such as interactive exhibits and career speaker events that give young people the tools they needs to plan for their futures. 89 joint replacements in four days? Our Canadian teams recently supported a charity mission in Guatemala that achieved just this. Operation Walk Canada is an all-volunteer medical humanitarian organization that provides life-changing joint replacement surgeries at no cost for those in need globally. We’re pleased to donate hip and knee implants for the operations, as well as provide on-site technical support from our team members, helping patients in disadvantaged communities live a Life Unlimited. 🧑🏾🤝🧑🏽80 Smith+Nephew colleagues. 🚴♀️4,300 hours of activity. ❔Why? To raise money for Warrior Gab, a charity funding medical research of mitochondrial disease MT-ND5, led by the family of 13-year-old Gabriel, who suffers from the disease. Our ‘Warriors’ used a fitness app to track a month of varied activities around Neuilly-sur-Seine, including dog walks, football training and bike rides. At the end of the month, we were delighted to welcome Gabriel to our offices to present a donation cheque of 2000€.
