Today I had the privilege of hosting two bright students, Erikkah Doe and Siquil Ward, from Belmont High School as part of a "Shadow Day" program which pairs high school seniors with professionals for a few hours to give them a behind-the-scenes look at real-world careers and workplace environments. Through my role on the Belmont Charter Network Career Advisory Board, I’ve seen firsthand the value of connecting students with professionals and was delighted to have this opportunity. During Erikkah and Siquil's visit to Emerald Business Supply & Emerald Business Interiors, we explored how our team works together across departments to serve customers, manage operations, and adapt in a fast-paced industry. Erikkah and Siquil were engaged, curious, and asked great questions as we walked through everything from customer service and logistics to team collaboration and the importance of adaptability in the workplace.
