Belle Becker, Caregiver at Azura of Oconomowoc Belle’s nominator shares, “Belle is very committed to Azura and our residents. She shows this daily, but in this specific instance, she was a true hero. One of our residents eloped recently after breaking down the backyard gate. Belle was not working that day, but heard about it through the silver alert that was issued. When he was safely found at a local church, she rushed to our home, knowing this resident would need support and likely be upset. She calmed the resident and was able to get him in an ambulance to be evaluated. She was with him every step of the way, and even the hospital staff was applauding her for how well she handled the situation. Belle is an amazing person and continues to show her caring and kind heart daily. We are so grateful to have her on our team!”

Kim Rehme, Quality of Life Coordinator at Azura of Manitowoc Kim’s nominator shares, “Kimi organized a Secret Santa at our inservice not only for the residents, but for the team too. All of the team came together and the residents had a wonderful Christmas! We had a limit of $15 but the team spent well over that for the residents, showing what kind hearts we have here in Manitowoc. It was amazing to see the smiles on the resident’s faces opening their gifts, and they were so thankful. None of this would have been possible if Kimi hadn’t organized this wonderful event. Thank you, Kimi!!”
Join us in congratulating our next group of Certified Dementia Specialists!! The Certified Dementia Specialist certification is 34 hours of learning in-depth information on different dementias, how to approach someone who is having behaviors and how to be successful in completing tasks with our residents while utilizing the resident's strengths & independence. Team members will also need to recertify on an annual basis to ensure their skills stay fresh. We are working towards certifying team members from all of our homes! These Dementia Specialists are the experts on dementia in their community, and we encourage families to turn to these team members when they need support or guidance with their loved one.
After Azura's Quality of Life Retreat, our QOL teams took some well-deserved time to bond, reflect, and have some fun together! These moments of connection and teamwork help us grow stronger—not just as colleagues, but as a family dedicated to enhancing the lives of those we serve. At Azura, we know that when we support each other, we can create even more exceptional, meaningful experiences for our residents. Grateful for this team and the heart they bring to everything they do!
At Azura, we believe in going above and beyond to support not only our residents but also our team members and community. Recently, several of our Azura team members participated in the SafeTALK Suicide Awareness Training, equipping themselves with the tools to recognize signs, provide support, and connect those in need with life-saving resources. Mental health matters, and having these conversations can truly make a difference.
