❤️ University of California, Berkeley's Student Body President Shrinidhi Gopal is empowering her community, one CYCLE at a time. Thanks to her leadership, Aunt Flow dispensers can be found in the restrooms of MLK Jr. Student Union and Eshleman Hall! “The Office of the President is proud to announce the official launch of menstrual product dispensers on campus! Through this project, we hope to not only de-stigmatize what surrounds menstrual and reproductive health but also extend accessibility to as many in our community as possible.” - Shri Gopal 💫

Today we are advocating on the Hill to end period poverty. ❣️ This week is the Clean Advocacy Summit with ISSA-The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association. Here's the policies that we are advocating for: 💡 The Period PROUD Act (H.R. 922) would create block grant funding for the distribution of period products, expanding accessibility to menstrual products for those with limited access. Specifically, it would provide funding through the Social Services Block Grant program to remove cost barriers to menstrual products and educate school officials on how best to communicate with students in need of these products. 💡 Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act (H.R.10230 in the 118th Congress) would provide “Good Samaritan” liability protection for donated period supplies. This will enable manufacturers, retailers, nonprofit organizations, and individuals to donate and distribute period supplies in good faith without fear of frivolous lawsuits. 💡The STAMP Act (H.R. 7905 in the 118th Congress), is a proposed federal law that would end the tampon tax across the country. 💡Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2023 (H.R. 3646 in the 118th Congress). This comprehensive legislation addresses period poverty by expanding access to free period products in schools, prisons and jails, shelters, businesses and public federal buildings. The Act also requires Medicaid to cover the cost of period products, eliminates the sales tax on period products and creates a pilot program to help families access period product. Together, we are changing the world one CYCLE at a time.® ❤️ Aunt Flow
