About us

Committed to entertaining and uniting the city of Atlanta since 1968, the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena, under the leadership of Principal Owners Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz, continue to build bridges through basketball by following its True to Atlanta mantra. On the court, the Hawks’ exciting young core is led by three-time All-Star point guard Trae Young. Off the court, the Hawks organization focuses on positively impacting the lives of Atlantans through providing access to youth basketball, fighting food insecurity, and the transformation of State Farm Arena into Georgia’s largest-ever voting precinct for the 2020 elections. The Hawks family also includes the College Park Skyhawks (NBA G League). Atlanta Hawks Membership, which includes your seat for every home game, is on sale now at www.hawks.com/membership or by calling 866-715-1500. For more information on the Hawks, log on to www.hawks.com or follow us on social media @ATLHawks.

  • In partnership with Georgia Power Company, we welcomed local HBCU students to State Farm Arena for a special pre-game panel discussion as part of our “True to You Workforce Empowerment” platform.   Georgia Power’s External Affairs Area Manager Lisa Tolliver, MHROD kicked off the panel with powerful opening remarks about the organization’s continued support of HBCU’s and the importance of exposing students of all backgrounds to career pathways in STEM across different industries including utilities and professional sports franchises.   Attendees also networked with our very own Hawks and State Farm Arena employees in the early stages of their careers, who shared some of the skills and experiences that have helped them advance professionally.   Learn more about “True to You Workforce Empowerment” presented by Georgia Power: https://lnkd.in/eRqHwKyc

Yesterday, we teamed up with Good Sports, Inc., a nonprofit promoting equitable access to youth sports in high-need communities, to celebrate the impact of our Project Rebound initiative at Kindezi at Gideons Elementary School, which is among the 12 schools chosen to receive a donation this year. Students enjoyed a fun mini basketball clinic and the school received over 350 brand new items of equipment and apparel.   Together with Good Sports, Project Rebound focuses on increasing access to play by providing basketball and fitness equipment to youth across greater Atlanta.   Since 2018, our partnership through Project Rebound has helped remove barriers to play by donating over $550k worth of equipment to more than 9,900 kids. We remain committed to building bridges through basketball and ensuring every kid has what they need to stay active, confident, and inspired.

In honor of Earth Day, we are proud to announce that we reached a new sustainability milestone by diverting more than 10 million pounds of waste from landfills since the launch of our zero waste journey in May 2021. In that time, State Farm Arena has hosted nearly 600 zero waste events, more than any other venue globally, consistently diverting over 90 percent of waste from landfills and becoming the first sports and live entertainment venue in the world to earn TRUE Platinum certification in April 2022. Special thanks to our partners including Novelis, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Smurfit Westrock, Honeywell, The HEINEKEN Company, and Georgia Natural Gas for helping us lead with purpose and set a benchmark in environmental stewardship. “We are honored to serve as a community asset, not only in sports and entertainment, but also in sustainability,” said our very own Head of Sustainable Strategy Sofi Emma Armenakian. “Ten million pounds is a huge number. This milestone is as a testament to the power of collaboration – from our team members and partners to the fans who join us every event. Together, we’re proving that when a venue leads with purpose, meaningful environmental impact follows. We’re all part of the solution.” Breaking down a substantial 10 million pounds in true ATL style shows that it amounts to approximately 80 million lemon pepper wings – enough to provide every resident of Atlanta with a 12-piece serving. “We are incredibly proud to hit this 10-million-pound milestone,” said our very own President of Business Enterprise and Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Saltzman. “Our success in sustainability is a credit to our partners who continue supporting our efforts, our employees who are driven to be leaders in the space and the fans who attend our events and appreciate the importance we place on taking care of the environment.” Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/gvW-b8cB
