A child care program, offering safe and educational option for parents who need it outside of regular school hours
About us
Apollo After School is comprehensive extended school day childcare program for students in grades Pre-K through 8th. We are founded around the belief that the process of education should involve all aspects of a child’s well-being… and it should also be FUN! Our extended-day and day camp programs offer our students a variety of activities to develop their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs. Our exciting curriculum utilizes Project-Based Learning, Social-Emotional Learning, and the Socratic Method to involve our students into setting productive goals, establishing effective thinking processes, and inspiring them to become lifelong learners. We include topics such as entrepreneurship, arts and crafts, science, math, board games, physical activity, civics, storytelling and public speaking in our daily programs. Each day’s schedule consists of a snack time, physical activity, home-work time, enrichment activities, and both free and unstructured play. Our program is highly customizable to fit your school’s needs, and our excellent staff handles all tasks associated with the program. All costs of the program are included with tuition and we operate at no additional cost to the school.

At Apollo After School, we believe that strong partnerships with school districts create the foundation for high-quality before- and after-school programs. That’s why we were honored to attend the AASA, The School Superintendents Association National Conference on Education (NCE) 2025, an event that brings together the nation’s top education leaders to discuss the future of K-12 education. Throughout the conference, we had the incredible opportunity to connect with superintendents, school district administrators, and education decision-makers from across the country. These conversations reinforced the growing demand for enrichment programs that support student development, improve academic outcomes, and provide working families with reliable childcare solutions. One of the most exciting aspects of NCE was the exchange of ideas — hearing about the challenges school districts face and discussing how Apollo After School can be a trusted partner in addressing them. Whether it’s offering engaging after-school programs, supporting SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) initiatives, or providing structured academic enrichment, our goal remains the same: helping schools create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for students. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took the time to meet with us and share their vision for the future of education. We are excited about the potential partnerships ahead and look forward to working together to develop programs that make a real difference in students’ lives. A special thank you to AASA and the event organizers for putting together such an impactful conference. Events like NCE foster the kind of collaboration and innovation that drive positive change in education. As we move forward, we are more committed than ever to supporting school districts in their mission to provide the best possible education and enrichment opportunities for their students. If you’d like to learn more about how Apollo After School can support your school, we’d love to continue the conversation! #NCE2025

Managing Classroom Transitions Like a Pro Classroom transitions are the process of moving students from one lesson, space, or activity to another during the school day. Transitions can be a challenge because students often see them as a time to talk, get silly, or forget basic classroom rules. Smooth transitions are a key part to classroom management – but if you struggle with them you aren’t alone! Fortunately, we have some tips to manage transition smoothly in your classroom. Remember any type of transition you choose to implement needs to be taught exclusively – and be sure to take time to practice it with your students. Use key symbols Visuals are always a good choice in a classroom. If you’re inside you can turn off the lights and have students freeze to listen to instructions. If you’re outside you can blow a whistle and show your students 10 fingers (meaning they have 10 minutes left) then blow the whistle again after the 10 minutes are up and show one hand meaning its time to line up. Use music Choose a “clean up” song for your classroom, and let students know that when they hear the song, they need to start cleaning up their activity and getting ready for the next. Everyone needs to be cleaned up and ready for the next activity before the song ends! Set a countdown timer Use a visual timer to show how much time students have to clean up and transition to the next activity. Inevitably students will see if they can beat their previous transition times. Move your body Walking is boring, so when transitioning students in the classroom give them a fun way to move their body while they clean up! Try cleaning up like a robot or cleaning up like a superhero. When heading from the classroom to an outside activity play a game of follow the leader by doing fun arm movements as you walk that students need to copy.
