We recently welcomed Major General Seung Bae Kong, commander of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Logistics Command for a briefing and a short tour of our Hangar 01 facility. He and a small group of ROKAF representatives visited to learn more about the RSO’s current projects and impact on the United States Air Force sustainment enterprise, with particular interest in artificial intelligence initiatives, including our Condition Based Maintenance Plus Program Office’s aircraft predictive maintenance technologies. #Readiness #ArtificialIntelligence #AirForce #Allies #AFRSO

Second Lieutenant Heather MacGowan serves as a Program Manager within the Rapid Sustainment Office’s Advanced Manufacturing Program Office, specifically supporting the Additive Manufacturing team. In this role, she helps drive the team’s mission to expand the use of advanced manufacturing processes, materials, and related technologies. Her work focuses on enhancing repair capabilities, cutting sustainment costs, and boosting aircraft availability across the Air Force. MacGowan’s commitment to service began in high school through her active involvement in Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, where she developed a strong desire to serve her country. Over six years ago, while balancing life as a wife and mother of four, she enlisted in the Air Force as a paralegal. Following six years of enlisted service, she earned her bachelor’s degree and was selected for a commission. “I have a passion for building relationships and mentoring others because people are the Air Force’s greatest asset,” says MacGowan. “I consider it both an honor and a responsibility to support and develop Airmen, ensuring they are prepared and empowered to succeed.” #DeliveringInnovation #Airmen #AirForce #AFRSO

1, 2, 3 – PULL! Team members of the RSO recently learned first-hand how to set up and disassemble two different Solar Powered Integrated Structures (SPIS) and a Hands-Off Expeditionary Tent (HEXT), led by representatives from RSO partner, Pvilion. This took place at the University of Dayton Research Institute's new Integrated Technology Operations Center (ITOC) and was an engaging opportunity to train on portfolio items supported by our Expeditionary Combat Technologies (ECT) team. #DeliveringInnovation #AirForce #AFRSO

It's been a while since we've featured one of our amazing RSO Airmen. Today, we're highlighting 1st Lt. Blaine Nye, Materials Research Engineer for our Advanced Manufacturing Program Office. He contributes to the RSO mission by analyzing private sector technologies to determine which have the potential to fulfill unmet United States Air Force requirements. “Growing up, I always felt a profound sense of gratitude at my quality of life as an American, especially compared to what life was like in other countries, " said Blaine. "As a result, I felt that I had a responsibility to repay my country, and serving was the perfect opportunity to do so. Now, as a Developmental Engineer, I work directly and indirectly on technological advancements to help ensure our military is well-equipped to protect our way of life and further our interests.” #DeliveringInnovation #Airmen #AirForce #AFRSO

The Department of the Air Force’s desire to utilize Additive Manufacturing (AM) for flight-critical components necessitates the rigorous qualification of vendors. The RSO Advanced Manufacturing Program Office (AMPO) is gathering information to evaluate vendor capability of meeting the United States Air Force's potential need. A presolicitation is now open for white papers that provide processes and procedures to qualify AM vendors for parts with airworthiness considerations. Take a look! https://lnkd.in/gkFQusc4 #DeliveringInnovation #AM #AdditiveManufacturing
