Fun Fact Friday: Ever seen a dozen cranes at an airport? You might’ve if you flew through Atlanta during construction of the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson! AECOM Hunt managed as many as 12 cranes on-site—yes, 12—during this major aviation project. That meant tight coordination with the FAA, all while keeping disruptions to travelers at a minimum. From solving the logistical puzzle of building at an active airport to ensuring the safety of passengers and workers, and collaborating with numerous stakeholders, our team delivered a smooth, seamless project from takeoff to landing. Last month, AECOM Hunt proudly attended The Gala for Architecture hosted by the Architecture and Design Foundation (AIA Dallas). A few weeks ago, baseball fans packed Busch Stadium to celebrate Opening Day—an annual tradition that marks new beginnings, renewed hope, and the thrill of the game. For us, it was also a reminder of a partnership that started over 20 years ago.  When AECOM Hunt teamed up with Clayco to help bring Busch Stadium to life, we weren’t just building a ballpark—we were laying the foundation for something bigger. Since then, we’ve continued to collaborate on countless projects, turning working relationships into long-lasting friendships, much like the camaraderie built in a winning clubhouse.  In both baseball and construction, success is about teamwork, trust, and executing the fundamentals day in and day out. This project, completed within a fully operational terminal, was divided into four key components: the Terminal Processor, South Concourse, North Concourse, and Campus Consolidation.  The result? A modernized terminal that enhances passenger experience while maintaining seamless airport operations. From new baggage handling systems to interior modernizations and tenant fit-outs, AECOM Hunt integrated closely with airport staff to deliver a stunning remodel of this critical infrastructure.
