Home is where the heart is, and now, where healing happens too. Children in the Charlotte area now have access to full-service, hospital-level care in the comfort of their own homes thanks to a first-in-the-nation program from Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, which is part of Advocate Health. Building on Atrium Health’s growing Hospital at Home program for adult patients, the largest such program in the country serving approximately 90 patients a day, Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital at Home is designed to provide team-based, multidisciplinary care for children who would otherwise spend the night at the hospital. This innovative service allows patients to receive high-quality medical care without the need for a traditional hospital stay, reducing the burden on families and freeing up hospital beds for critically ill pediatric patients.

They say “there’s no place like home” -- and that’s especially true for the kids we serve and their families.  Recently, Advocate Health was proud to launch our Pediatric Hospital at Home, one of the first and only such programs in the nation, supporting Atrium Health Levine Children's in Charlotte. We know that delivering the best care to our patients, from infancy through adulthood, includes making sure they feel comfortable as they’re being treated. And that’s the impetus behind the Hospital at Home program: sometimes the best option for care means turning a person’s bedroom or living room into a fully functional hospital room.  Advocate Health is the largest provider of Hospital at Home care in the U.S., and we've seen remarkably good patient outcomes and satisfaction through this program. Now with our reach expanding to pediatrics, as we make sure that children can receive quality care in a familiar setting without needing to travel, we welcomed NBC News Charlotte to walk through the care process. How do you improve on, simplify and shape teammate experience if you aren’t intentional about making it easier for teammates to provide their insights? When our organization came together as Advocate Health there were many surveys and forums to provide feedback which resulted in a fragmented view. Thanks to the efforts of many, we consolidated our annual culture of safety and work environment survey into a single platform, reducing the number of questions and making the process more efficient across many topical areas. The comprehensive data and analytics we gained have facilitated more informed strategic decisions and helped bridge gaps. We continue to build on this throughout the year with our anniversary surveys. The highlight of our efforts is being recognized for innovation with the Perceptyx Change and Innovation EX Award! This accolade celebrates our cross-functional team's dedication to creating a positive experience for teammates. Kudos to everyone who contributed to this achievement. I wanted to take a moment to wish a happy Doctors’ Day to the more than 20,000 physicians across Advocate Health.   Each day, the physicians at our hospitals, clinics, and health care facilities deliver exceptional care with endless compassion—treating every person who walks through our doors the same way they’d want a loved one to be treated in the same position.   A doctor's work is not just a profession; it is a calling to serve others and strengthen communities, from our most rural towns to our most urban cities. Today, and every day, we are so grateful for you and the extraordinary work you do. And today, and every day, we will do everything we can to support you.    So, to all of Advocate Health’s doctors, I want to say: thank you!

Meet Cynthia — chief of staff and senior vice president of the Macon Market at Atrium Health Navicent. Cynthia shares what inspires her as well as her favorite mantra: “Nearly 23 years ago, I started my journey at Atrium Health Navicent as the director of Marketing. I’ve had the opportunity to grow and advance through various leadership roles across different divisions. These diverse experiences have profoundly shaped my professional journey, and I’m continually inspired by our teams’ incredible dedication to delivering the best possible care to our patients and their families. It has been a privilege to do my part to serve the central Georgia community, and support those providing health and wellness services. No matter the task, I remain grounded by holding dear the mantra that ‘every person we serve is loved by someone,’ which serves as a reminder that every patient is a unique individual who is treasured by family and friends. As we address their overall health, we are entrusted with their dignity, privacy, and most importantly, their holistic healing process, and that is a sacred mission for us all....I’m proud to honor the many women leaders across all disciplines who have paved the way in health care administration and community service and hope to continue to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to the people of central Georgia through my role.”
