In this month’s issue of ACI's CI Magazine, we sat down with ACI Foundation donor and trustee, Keith Kesner. Reflecting on his motivations to contribute, Kesner shared that his first donation was in memory of Dan Falconer, a respected professional in the ACI community. “Dan was such a wonderful person and losing him was a significant loss for everyone involved in ACI. Supporting a fellowship in his name felt right.” Kesner emphasized that donating to the ACI Foundation allows individuals to contribute to tangible goals rather than abstract concepts. “When you donate, you’re supporting a specific cause that has a direct impact on students and our industry,” he said. “It’s fulfilling to know that your contributions are making a real difference.” Read the full spotlight: https://lnkd.in/gKrUjgVE

Monday afternoon, students enthusiastically participated in the ACI 123 Student Poster Competition at the ACI Concrete Convention in Toronto. One of those students included Aakriti Khadka from North Carolina State University, the 2024-2025 recipient of the JoAnne K. & Cecil L. Jones Carolinas Fellowship. Anton Schindler received this year’s Building the Future Award for his strong advocacy for the ACI Foundation mission and unwavering dedication to students and commitment to creating excellence in its Scholarship Program. Congratulations Anton! The Building the Future Award was created in 2019 by ACI Foundation staff to recognize outstanding advocates and supporters of the ACI Foundation.

Last night the ACI Foundation had the opportunity to celebrate and thank our wonderful donors and volunteers at the ACI Foundation Donor and Volunteer Recognition Reception. Yesterday the ACI Foundation’s Concrete Innovation Council (CIC) hosted a technical session titled "Innovations in Concrete: Implementing Low Carbon Concrete – From Innovation to Reality" at the ACI Concrete Convention in Toronto. Speakers answered key questions on testing, codes, and regional variations. Thank you to the moderators (Glenn Schaefer and Brad Malmsten) and speakers (Emily Kunkel, Joel Ahearne-Ray, Tiffany Reed-Villarreal, Larry Rowland, and Robert Nussmeier).
