IN THE NEWS: We’re proud to be a partner in delivering Australia's first renewable energy zone which will provide cleaner, more reliable energy for NSW residents. ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, Grupo Cobra and Endeavour Energy (NSW), has reached contract and financial close with EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network.   In reaching this milestone, our CEO Guy Chalkley said that Endeavour Energy (NSW) has a strong track record in providing a safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity supply to 2.7 million people across NSW, and "we will draw on this experience as ACEREZ builds the Central-West Orana REZ to set the standard for other renewable energy zones across the nation." NSW has sealed the deal for Australia’s first Renewable Energy Zone which will provide cheaper and more reliable energy to millions of homes and businesses across the state. The NSW Government's EnergyCo has awarded ACEREZ - a consortium of ACCIONA AU & NZ COBRA, and Endeavour Energy (NSW) – the contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. The project will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity by 2028, to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year. It will generate a significant economic boost in the Central-West Orana region and NSW as a whole, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs at its peak and bringing $20 billion in private investment into the region by 2030. The Minns Labor Government is also delivering $128 million in grants for projects in the communities that’ll host the REZ, to deliver benefits and inject funding into the area before major construction starts.

ACEREZ is now a member of the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON), supporting more avenues for landholders and community members to seek independent advice and resolve complaints.    EWON’s jurisdiction now includes transmission infrastructure within renewable energy zones.    ACEREZ CEO Trevor Armstrong said being a member of EWON will encourage transparency with the community.    “EWON is well established as a credible, independent mediator and we welcome their expanded remit to include the transmission infrastructure in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ),” Mr Armstrong said.    “We are already working closely with Ombudsman Janine Young and her team to ensure clear and timely communication with our community members as we deliver this vital project for the people of NSW.”    #Energy&WaterOmbudsmanNSW(EWON) #EnergyCo #Acciona #GrupoCobra #EndeavourEnergy #EnergyTransition #communities #energy #commitment
