About us
AAF of Des Moines is a dynamic, growing organization dedicated to professional development and networking in Des Moines and Central Iowa. Quoting our bylaws, the object of this organization shall be to foster higher standards of practice in advertising, to expand recognition of advertising, to further the personal and professional knowledge of persons in advertising, and to promote good fellowship among advertising persons. AAF of Des Moines is in the middle of an awesome transformation – one that will take us from an “advertising club” to the premier trade association for advertising and marketing in Central Iowa. Our focus in the coming year will center around four key pillars: 1. Advocacy. There is a lot of great talent in Central Iowa and it keeps getting better and more plentiful. AAF of Des Moines has the unique opportunity to represent the Central Iowa advertising community as a united front. We want to keep advertising dollars in our local economy. We’re in the beginning phase of an initiative to heighten awareness of our local talent with key business leaders. 2. Networking. It’s not just about finding your next job. It’s about making connections that can be valuable to your business and your career. We’re implementing a series of initiatives to improve networking opportunities – including the establishment of a new ambassador program that will facilitate better networking at our luncheons as well as tap into new members’ talents and resources much more quickly to enhance the overall AAF experience. 3. Professional Development. Continuing education is critical for everyone in our industry. We will continue to offer high-caliber speakers in the areas of creativity, technology and marketing. 4. Advertising Excellence. Let’s party and celebrate great advertising! Our hallmark event – the American Advertising Awards® – happens each February. We’re making investments in the quality and production of the show. It will be a red carpet event.
