Design Services
The uOttawa Richard L’Abbé Makerspace is a sandbox to design, play and create for fun or for a specific project.
Companies interested in taking advantage of the Richard L’Abbé Makerspace for the equipment or the experience of our staff or students that use our equipment, can sign up to use the Design Services offered at the Makerspace.
If you would like to use the Richard L’Abbé Makerspace to hold a design event for a day you can Reserve the Makerspace. We will help you set up a date where you can have the Makerspace and its equipment for your operations.
Our staff and students at the Richard L’Abbé Makerspace can help you design and build prototypes to your need and/or specifications. Our rates depend on the extent and the requirements of the project you have in mind. There are two types of projects:
Long-Term Projects
If your project is "a nice" to have or not urgent, then we at the Richard L’Abbé Makerspace will gladly collaborate with you for free. Our students will work on the project as part of their Capstone projects or other design courses.
Short-Term Projects
For more immediate projects that must be completed in hours or days, the Richard L’Abbé Makerspace will offer up the expertise of its students and staff for a competitive price.

Consultation Services
The uOttawa Richard L’Abbé Makerspace is always happy to have experts on board the Makerspace team. If you have experience with the Equipment included in the Makerspace and would like to share your expertise with our students and staff, for free or at a price, we will greatly appreciate your collaboration.
