Faculties and Departments
Although the University of Ottawa was originally a liberal arts college, we have been teaching pure and applied sciences in both French and English since the 1800s. Today, the University offers a full range of academic and professional programs at the undergraduate level in nine faculties: Arts, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, School of Management, Science and Social Sciences. Master's and doctoral degrees are also offered in most disciplines by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. U of O offers the second-highest number of doctoral programs in Ontario.
