Last week our Senior Manager Meetings & Incentives Allison Jungkurth joined a group of European event buyers on a client trip to Manchester and the Peak District. The buyers, specialists in corporate incentives and business events in the valuable German, Norwegian and Danish markets, had a chance to experience the fantastic cultural attractions, natural landscapes and outstanding food scene to be found in Manchester. During the trip, the group explored a range of exciting attractions, including the Science and Industry Museum, which highlights Manchester’s legacy of groundbreaking innovations and scientific discoveries and offers unique venues, perfect for transforming your #businessevents into unforgettable experiences. The group also visited the historic Victoria Baths, enjoyed a gin-making session at the award-winning The Spirit of Manchester Distillery, and immersed themselves in a tour that blended music, industrial heritage, and street art, uncovering the city’s creative spirit. Yesterday, our team spent the day in Bristol alongside Meet Bristol and Bath, showcasing the diverse business events options available in the city. We explored De Vere Tortworth Court, a wonderful venue in the region situated on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds. Able to accommodate up to 350 delegates, as well as historical spaces including The Orangery, an 18th-century glass-domed room offering private dining and The Tipi at Tortworth, it’s a beautiful venue with much to offer – thank you to Robin Wiltshire for the tour! Our day also included an exciting tour of the new YTL Arena Bristol. YTL Arena will be the first large-scale arena in the Southwest of England, able to cater for 19,500 people with interlinking facilities for large-scale conferences and exhibitions. With the aim of creating the most sustainable arena in Europe, being carbon neutral from Day 1 without using fossils fuels, this is an exciting venue which will transform the region’s business events offer. We are delighted to be supporting the Great Ambassador Networking Group (GANG) annual meeting at the University of Warwick this week. The ambassador programme leaders perform a critical role to bid for and win important association congresses working with their ambassadors throughout England. We heard from Carsten P. Welsch on the impressive work he has delivered alongside Club Liverpool on securing the International Particle Accelerator Conference in 2029, and the Birmingham & West Midlands Convention Bureau team with their excellent local organising committee in securing the World Screen Tourism Summit in 2025, the Intelligent Transport System Conference in 2027 and the International Ceramics Conference in 2028. Thank you to our wonderful hosts at the University of Warwick for being a great setting, and the organising committee Emma Willis, Neil James, Jane Fawley and Kerry Watson for all their work to convene ambassador leaders from across England, Scotland and Wales. #GANG2025

It’s been a great week at this years' annual MeetEngland mission in New York City. The team and our destination partners hosted over 120 meetings with event buyers from across North America at SMU International, showcasing England’s diverse #businessevents offering from all parts of the country. Last night we concluded our mission trip with a fantastic evening event with New York-based event planners alongside our England partners. The North American market continues to be our largest business events market for England particularly for corporate events, meetings and incentives. It’s been a productive week Stateside engaging with so many diverse and potential clients.
