After reportedly injecting £35 million earlier this year, InPost apparently now holds an option to fully acquire Yodel as early as April. Another successful, intense and fruitful Leaders in Logistics event just ended - so many takeaways, so many great discussions, and so many new contacts. If I had the opportunity and pleasure meeting and talking with you, then thank you all again for taking the time! Once again a big thank you to our panelists for the startup award competition on Tuesday, Thierry Golliard, Sophie DESIER, Michael Andrae, Jesper Bang-Olsen. Many people had the opportunity to visit the "Smarcel" mobile locker system which was parked outside the expo area - this year's winner of the startup award. It's an amazing piece of technology that will help to bring the locker landscape to a different level. Congratulations again Boris Mayer and Christof Schares, the founders of Smarcel - Innovative Robot Delivery. I hope that you had the chance to join our session on digital transformation, where you could get first-hand insights from Eeuwe Kamsteeg of PostNL, Clemens Beckmann from Erhardt Partner Group, Boris Scholz of FIEGE, Stein van Est of Maersk, Andreas Thöni of Österreichische Post, Fredrik Lindqvist of Posten / Bring and Bart Coppelmans of HERE Technologies. The main industry focus and also challenge is to deploy new technologies in an environment where legacy systems still drive a lot of processes and where a multitude of technologies and data sources need to be consolidated. Nevertheless, the speakers and panelists clearly showed ways and strategies to cope with the challenges, implement the changes in a step-wise approach, or even completely rebuild the IT infrastructure to not only replace outdated legacy systems but also to create a powerful basis for operational efficiency and scaling technologies to new customer propositions. We closed the conference with another topic that is crucial to create benefits and efficiencies - collaboration & partnerships. Together with Evaldas Bieliūnas of Vinted Go, Chris Farren of Pro Carrier, and Mads Bentzen Billesø of DFDS we discussed benefits and risk of collaboration, how to overcome collaboration obstacles, how the need for collaboration can be balanced with a competitive advantage, how open networks of locker system can create powerful win-wins, the importance of speed in forging partnerships but also in killing collaboration in case they don't deliver the expected results. LiL 2025 was also another opportunity for the ever growing connect2posts community to meet. It was nice to see so many of our members get together and enjoy a nice evening over traditional German food. Thank you all for joining! And thank you Kate for taking all these pictures!
