The last few days at the Leaders in Logistics summit in Estrel Berlin 🇩🇪 has been insightful, collaborative and simultaneously exciting for Peter Cernuta and myself. Especially the direction in which the world of Logistics is moving onto. From E-commerce deliveries, Postal delivery efficiency and the giants of last-mile deliveries DHL, DPD talking on the current scenario, future challenges that impact the landscape of Europe and the globe, and how sustainability would still be a key driver as a responsibility for our community. It was great to have been invited by our Google Maps Platform solution partners OniGroup for the event, and talk on Laundryheap's build on last mile logistics and the future we are shaping for on-demand Laundry and dry cleaning. Shout out to Veronika K., Martin Tiekle, Germán Cárdenas Garcia Saranjan Maheswaran for being a great host and part of OniGroup. How much time are you wasting on laundry each week? The average British household spends 3.5 hours on laundry-related tasks every single week. That’s an insane 𝟮𝟬𝟴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. To put that into perspective—208 hours is like: • Watching every single Premier League game this season • Taking an 8 day trip to Asia • Reading 12 novels... And the thing is, who actually enjoys doing laundry? I see it as a 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭 to avoid smelling like a gym bag. In fact it's no surprise that 𝟮𝟳% 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗶𝘁 (and that’s just the official stats). And the worst part? It’s costing us. At £16.81/hour (median UK wage) that’s £𝟯,𝟰𝟵𝟲.𝟰𝟴 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 just in unpaid labour. And that doesn’t even include electricity, water, detergent, fabric softener… the list goes on. So when I stumbled upon Laundryheap - who pick up, wash, iron, fold, and deliver within 24 hours - I was intrigued. Chatting with Deyan D. it was clear: the service was amazing (the growth trajectory speaks for itself). But more people in London needed to know about it. Fast forward a few months—I had the chance to take Miranda Gowlland around London, seeing their first roadside OOH campaign come to life. Who knew laundry could look so good on the streets? Excited to help Deyan and Mayur and the team on their mission to turn Sundays back into ‘𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬’ days instead of ‘𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘴’ days. p.s would you rather be sorting socks... the choice is yours
