Key topics included expanding attack surfaces, the lack of real-world attack data, and the use of AI and synthetic data to build safer systems. Morning research sessions welcomed: • Dr Daniel Fowler on the integration of AI in automotive systems and its implications • Dr Anita Khadka, PhD on mobile app-based vulnerabilities and data privacy • Dr Ahn Tuan Le on hybrid synthetic data generation for simulating realistic attack scenarios Research sessions were followed by short talks that covered IoT frameworks, trust in smart vehicles, and federated learning, with speakers including Dr Saif ul Islam, PhD, Mirko Bottarelli, Dr. B. D. Deebak, and Dr Riya Tapwal A panel on trustworthy systems policy featured Amy B. and Peter Davies, followed by a collaboration workshop exploring future research in secure digital mobility. The event closed with a collaboration workshop to explore future research partnerships and interdisciplinary solutions in digital mobility. The framework has evolved and is being implemented globally, including in Japan and Singapore. Over the last year, we have continued to enhance and further foster learning across domains. 📝 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆: 🖋️ When developing automated transport systems, we need to take a true systems thinking approach, in which humans are the core of the technology development. 🖋️ Prioritise communicating safety to ensure that users know the limitations and capabilities of the technology and understand what they care about. 🖋️ A safe AI policy is needed for technology like automated transport systems, and this will allow the UK to become the leader of AI 🖋️ Global collaboration is key to tackling safe autonomy challenges. WMG is working closely with global partners to envision a safe autonomous future. Skyports Infrastructure has completed the build of their vertiport at Bicester Motion. This is a key step towards enabling eVTOL operations in the UK. As part of the Advanced Mobility Ecosystem Consortium, WMG is proud to contribute its expertise in Battery Diagnostics, Battery Fire Safety and Prognostics helping to shape the future of sustainable aviation. With operational testing now underway, this milestone brings us closer to a quiet, efficient, and accessible transport system for the UK. We have reached a significant moment for Skyports Infrastructure: the completion of the UK’s first vertiport at Bicester Motion. We’re now gearing up for the operational testing phase, with invaluable support from Simon Masters and Kerissa Khan DSc FRAeS at the UK Future Flight Challenge. This project exemplifies Skyports’ continued drive to develop an Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem in the UK, strategically located near Bicester Village.
