We are delighted to welcome King William Street to the Wasabi estate. At the opening yesterday, we gave away goodie bags to the first 100 customers and here you can see customer number 1 who was delighted with his loot (and his lunch)! After completing numerous restaurant refurbishments in the last 12 months, King William Street is the first new site opening for some time and we couldn't be happier. Not only is it a beautiful restaurant in a cracking location, moments from Monument Tube Station, but it was also a demonstration of exceptional teamwork from departments across the business. Well done to all involved! Henry Birts H. Ashton Crosby Abe Matamoros Niels Carl A. Lorijn John Buckingham David Dunne Kate Lucas Gunhee Lee

Kate Richardson-Walsh OLY OBE was an absolute inspiration. Showing how understanding, humility and vulnerability and celebrating our differences can create a winning team. She has left a lasting impression on us all 🥰
I had the pleasure of meeting hockey legend Kate Richardson-Walsh OLY OBE at our Wasabi Sushi & Bento conference. She shared her amazing story, reliving the journey to Olympic Gold in Rio 2016. Her insights on how she and her teammates built a High PerformingTeam were fascinating and will provide a template for HPT in Wasabi.

Our theme was "Winning Together" and who better to help us on this journey than Kate Richardson-Walsh OLY OBE - such an inspiration! Enjoying some well-deserved downtime together in the evening - our teams DEFINITELY know how to party - green glitter, sparkles and some excellent shapes being thrown on the dancefloor with tunes provided by our very own DJ Shaun Lawrence Henry Birts John Buckingham David Dunne Kate Lucas Debs Salisbury Gayle Denard Shelly Ravid H. We have entered into a strategic partnership with The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, the UK’s food allergy charity, helping to support the organisation’s goal to #MakeAllergyHistory. Our CEO Henry Birts says: “At Wasabi, we recognise the dangers faced by people living with food allergies, and allergen management is a critical element of our food safety and quality processes. We actively minimise allergens in our food where we can and where this is not possible, we ensure there are robust controls in place to prevent allergen cross-contamination and that our products are labelled correctly. We look forward to the learning and improvement opportunity this partnership will bring to the Wasabi team, and are delighted to be working with The Natasha Foundation to help them fulfil their ambition to #MakeAllergyHistory”.
We are excited to announce a new partnership between The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation and Wasabi. Wasabi Sushi & Bento creates and serves sushi and hot bento in its restaurants and through a range of ready meals through the major food retailers. Wasabi is committed to supporting our mission to #MakeAllergyHistory. This new partnership will help support our essential work across research, education, and policy and enable us to continue improving the lives of the millions of people in the UK living with food allergies. Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBE, founder of the Natasha Foundation, the UK’s food allergy charity, says: “We are delighted that Wasabi has joined us as a long-term partner. Food allergy is not a choice or a preference, it is a serious and unpredictable disease that can cause a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. With Wasabi’s support, we can continue to carry out critical medical research and campaign work essential to achieving our mission of #MakingAllergyHistory. We are so grateful for Wasabi’s support - thank you."

🌍 Taking Action for a Greener Future 🌱 We’re proud to announce our commitment to net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and have made a huge step forward by switching from brown gas to green gas! So, what is the difference? Green gas is released when food or other natural waste biodegrades, it’s virtually carbon neutral as when it’s burnt, the carbon released is equivalent to the carbon that was absorbed by the matter when it was growing. Brown gas, also known as natural gas, is a non-renewable fossil fuel that releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is contributing to climate change. By switching to green gas, we are not only taking action to reduce global warming, but we are also supporting British farmers, as green gas can help provide a greater long-term financial security without damaging the environment. One BIG step closer to net zero! 🌎💚 #NetZero #GreenEnergy #Sustainability #ClimateAction

Yesterday, from London to Leeds our people mobilised to launch not one but two national campaigns, both in different ways, a first for Wasabi. The Wasabi family team spirit was as strong as ever. Our Korean BBQ Katsu Sando landed on the shelves. The Sando “sandwich” in Japanese sees the introduction of a brand-new category within our hot menu. Made with succulent chicken coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, Asian slaw, tucked between two slices of light, fluffy Japanese Shokupan-style bread and a lip smacking BBQ dip – you’ll be back for more. Wasabi Rewards went live yesterday. We are excited to be able to reward our customers for their loyalty, in a new way, available exclusively via the new Wasabi Sushi & Bento app. Find out more about Wasabi Rewards here: https://lnkd.in/gh-SW4mk

The cost of living in London has gone up 24% in the last three years and 275,000 working parents across London have struggled to afford to feed their children in the last year. This is why Wasabi has decided to work with The Felix Project, donating our surplus food. The Felix Project rescue good food from becoming waste and divert it to people most in need and, as a result of this partnership, over the last 12 months Wasabi has: - donated 16.66 tonnes of surplus food - shared 39,810 meals - supported 152 community organisations We're proud to be able to contribute towards ending London's hunger and winning the fight against food waste.
