This week (17th - 23rd March) was Neurodivergency Celebration Week, a time to be proud of different ways of thinking and talk about creating a better world for people living with neurological differences. Across the week, many of our students and staff got involved by sharing their lived experiences of being neurodivergent and taking to social media to raise awareness of their neurological differences. Here, along with our CEO Mark, they tell us how they think Upmo has created a safe, nurturing environment for a neurodiverse community. We are so proud of everyone who bravely told their stories! You can support Upmo's vision of an inclusive society where people with learning disabilities can thrive by spreading the word, following us for more stories and updates or by donating via our website. Wonderful to see our students talking about the positive impact the Our Future Leaders course is having on their lives! Since January, 8 students have been learning skills to help them make choices, lead healthier lives and know their rights. Thank you to Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities and Inspiring Scotland for providing this amazing opportunity.
We asked the students on the Our Future Leaders course what they thought about it. Here’s what they had to say ⬇️ Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities Upmo

It is fantastic to see Upmo shortlisted for the Scottish Transport Awards in conjuction with Lothian Buses. Huge thanks to the team at Lothian Buses and equally to the Upmo team led by Patrick Findlay for designing, creating and producing the initiative. Of course well done to Jason himself for his amazing staring role and personal insights. Please take a minute to view his video "Jason's Journey" which has gone beyond merely the physical with him nearing employability ready within our Cafe opertaions thanks to independant travel and the support of key staff such as Ross Somerville supporting him. With your continued support we hope to expand the horizons and unlock the potential of many more young people. https://lnkd.in/ee4biBWG
