Yesterday, we marked our 20th anniversary with an event at Westminster, hosted by Anna Turley MP for Redcar. The event celebrated two decades of impact in driving economic growth, supporting UK businesses, and accelerating industrial transformation across key sectors. We were honoured by the attendance of many of our collaborators and supporters from across the innovation ecosystem, and we were reminded of our impact and mission by their incredible words ⬇️ 💬 Anna Turley MP, Government Whip: "CPI holds the key to achieving so much of this government's ambition—driving growth, pushing technological innovation, and building a future where world-class science and industry transform communities like mine in Redcar." 💬 Alexandra Jones CBE, Director General for Science, Innovation and Growth, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology: "CPI is one of the most important organisations in the country, really driving forward technological innovation and adoption. Your work is crucial to supporting the growth of the UK economy, and making the most of science, innovation, and technology. I'm really excited about what CPI is going to achieve in the next 20 years." 💬 Dr Stella Peace, Interim Executive Chair, Innovate UK: "CPI’s expertise and dynamic capabilities, in strategic collaboration with Innovate UK, drive real-world impact, from advancing food and sustainable medicine to creating innovations that save lives. By nurturing innovation, developing talent, and supporting the workforce of the future, CPI ensures its vision for a healthier, more sustainable future continues to inspire and drive growth." 💬 Dr Luana Ferrara, Head of R&D and Collaborations, Qkine: "CPI’s expertise in scaling up biological manufacturing was key to helping QKine meet global demand. More than that, our collaboration was a success because we share the same values—innovation, scientific excellence, and a commitment to building a strong UK-based supply chain for the biotech sector." 💬 Frank Millar, CEO, CPI: "If CPI is the answer, then what is the question? Over 20 years of innovation and impact, we’ve discovered that the questions are endless, and the answers we find together are transforming industries. Looking ahead, our focus is to ensure that deep tech entrepreneurs secure the funding they need to scale, innovate, and drive the next wave of breakthroughs that will shape the future." As we remain committed to delivering groundbreaking innovations, we look forward to a bright future where science and technology drive sustainable growth, transform industries, and improve lives on a global scale.   Learn more about the event ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eqU_MvtC Jennie Younger FKC Kris Wadrop Louise Barker Tracey Stonehouse Graeme Cruickshank Arun Harish Matthew Herbert Becky Fields Amita Randhawa John Kavanagh Dave Tudor Hannah Wade #CPI20 | #Anniversary | #Westminster  #LetsInnovateTogether | #Innovation | #Sustainability

The UK’s ambition to achieve net zero by 2050 demands bold, scalable solutions—and nuclear power is set to play a crucial role ⚛️⬇️ Designed to be compact, cost-effective and quicker to deploy than traditional nuclear power stations, each Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) have the potential to power homes and businesses with clean, low-carbon electricity. But to move from concept to commercial reality, Rolls-Royce SMR needed to rapidly scale up its manufacturing processes; reducing the time, cost and risk of deployment compared to large-scale nuclear power stations. That’s where CPI came in, helping Rolls-Royce SMR: 🔧 Validate critical process steps through multidisciplinary expertise. 🧩 Define achievable outcomes for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) within modular build constraints. 🛠️ Develop a small-scale demonstrator to test key functionality. 🏗️ Deliver a representative FAT facility to guide full-scale design. By tackling these early-stage challenges, we helped de-risk development and accelerate the journey to commercial-scale SMR deployment.
