🗣️The Change NHS Summit last Friday was a huge success - a massive thank you to everyone who supported us to deliver the biggest ever national conversation about the NHS!   There was a real desire for change in the room, with around 300 people joining The Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP to contribute to the development of the 10 Year Health Plan and discuss a vision for the future of the NHS.    ❗Tell us your priorities by 14 April: change.nhs.uk   Kaleidoscope Health and Care, IPPR, Department of Health and Social Care, Jessie Cunnett, Anastasia Knox, Julia Ridpath, Lucy Farrow

Trying to create change within a single team or organisation, it is a challenge. Creating a change to dramatically improve the NHS, now that’s a real challenge, but it was encouraging to see the momentum. Once again, I was lucky enough to have been included in the second phase of the public voice, designed to provide feedback and hopefully some insight from personal experiences, to benefit the future of the NHS. To attend a gathering of over 300 people, invited from all over the country, it was a pleasure to listen and share comment on the proposed plans by the Government, for the NHS over the next 10 years. It was a diverse blend of those who work within the NHS at all levels, to those like me, who are hugely grateful for what it offers and would like to see it remain. There was opportunity to help identify room for improvement and provide feedback on potential initiatives. I have to say, I was very impressed. Firstly by the co-ordination of the event and the facilitation by Thinks Insight & Strategy, in allowing so many voices to be heard, provide feedback and feel listened. Leaving political agendas completely aside, the various commentary throughout the day, led by The Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP and other key personnel responsible for the delivery of this was positive and encouraging. I am now really keen to see the final 10-year plan which arises in June following this and many other initiatives taking place. I have personally witnessed these on 2 occasions now. They are valid attempts to listen and take this opportunity to provide the NHS the ‘shot in the arm’ ⋆⁺₊✩🩹🩸 ₊˚.💉⋆⁺₊✧ that it so desperately needs. I can only hope that once 'The 10 Year Plan' is released, the real work begins in moving these written words to physical action, creating change (on all levels inc. process, behavioural and cultural), not just direclty within the NHS but the wider influences. ⛰️ The enormity of this task cannot be underestimated. 💡 Any advice out there you would give the powers to be on this? I would love to offer the Government, TLRdynamics services and utilising our tools such as The Six Types of Working Genius to move this through the key 3 stages: 💡 Ideation (Where the plan currently sits at present) 🧐 Activation   (Ensuring the best ideas and workability of these are fully evaluated to achieve the greatest impact, with everyone fully onboard and trusting these will be achieved) 🎯 Implementation Ensuring these initiatives are actually delivered via the right people, with the required resources and within the time and budgets available. Although I am fully aware this may be seen as a step too far for us by the government. 🤭 However, anyone else feeling that they need support in navigating change or maximising the effectiveness and potential of their team. Last week saw the culmination of some fantastic citizen engagement in Andover where 35 people came together over two weekends to explore through a process of deliberative engagement the opportunities to develop a localised and strengths-based approach to improving health within communities. Through their discussions they considered: ➡ What does health and healthy living look like in Andover today? ➡ How do we make community care work for everyone in Andover, now and in the future? ➡ How do different citizens experience health and healthcare? ➡ What does success for community health in Andover look like?   As a result, a set of principles have been developed that will form the basis of opportunities for partner organisations to further transform how we work as we continue to all play our part in developing a prevention-led approach, grounded within local communities that improves health and care outcomes. This forms part of the exciting package of integrated neighbourhood working in Andover building on the momentum of local innovations such as the Andover Health Hub and we look forward to sharing the principles in the coming weeks once they have been published. Our thanks to all of our residents who took part and brought such positive energy and insight to the discussion and to our partners who played such an active role in supporting the sessions: Andover Primary Care Network, Hampshire and IOW ICB and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
