  • #FLASHBACKFRIDAY The Blaauwbosch Wildlife Rescue" was a massive operation in partnership with Wild911 and the Uitenhage SPCA. On November 20, 2019, this mission successfully rescued over 80 animals from the Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve. The owner thought he was above the law, fortunately, the team proved him wrong. • Did you know we work with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency to safeguard and nurture black-footed cats at the stunning Loskop Dam Nature Reserve in South Africa. These incredibly rare predators, listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, are Africa’s smallest cat species, standing just eight inches tall. All the breeding females are first time mums, and their kittens will be released in the near future to help ensure the survival of the species. All the released animals are closely monitored by our dedicated team to ensure their survival. Our efforts aim to ensure their future through breeding and eventual reintroduction into the wild. Together, let's protect and preserve these magnificent creatures!

  • Madagascar is one of the most important places for wildlife on earth. As the world's largest island, its isolation has meant that native plants and animals have evolved like nowhere else on the planet. Incredibly 90% of the species found in Madagascar are found only there. It is the only place in the world that lemurs live. It is a truly incredible country, and one that we need to protect It's too late to rewind, but together we can rewild. #aspinallfoundation #charity #ukcharity #animalcharity #endangered #animals #backtothewild #rewild #animalprotection #animalconservation #wildlife #protectwildlife #conservation #helpconservation #nature #wildlifeconservation

  • #FlashbackFriday Did you know that we have successfully rewilded 23 crocodiles, some up to 3.5 meters long! In April 2022 we worked in close collaboration with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, overseeing a project to release 23 previously captive crocodiles into the wilds of Mpumalanga. Careful planning was required to transport large crocodiles and integrate them into their natural habitat and the operation was an overwhelming success. We were proud to provide not only funding for the transportation but also GPS tags to monitor the crocs’ successful adaptation to the wild. Every single species is vital to maintain a balanced ecosystem and we remain deeply committed to conserving all animals in need. It’s too late to rewind, but together we can rewild.

  • Being #ValentinesDay we thought you might love a The Aspinall Foundation love story 🧡 🩶 Valentine’s Love Story From The Jungle 🩶 🧡 Djongo the confident silverback stole Mayombe's heart from their first encounter back way back in 2020. Mayombe, a shy and gentle female, was clearly VERY impressed by Djongo’s macho displays and it was love at first sight. They’ve been joined at the hip ever since. On the day they were introduced, the pair spent their time feeding and resting together. We knew they were getting on well when the team spotted mating just hours after the initial introduction! In 2021, Mayombe gave birth to Djongo’s daughter, a beautiful little female named Taali. This was a huge milestone for the gorilla family and our team – Taali was the WORLD’S FIRST gorilla born in the wild to two captive-born parents. Fast forward to 2025 and Mayombe and Djongo are still inseparable and Taali has grown into quite the little hellraiser. These gorilla parents bringing up their offspring in the forests we protect, where she will never know captivity or threat, is the perfect example of our work. We could not be more proud of this family and are absolutely over the moon to celebrate their love with you this Valentine’s Day! The support we get from our corporate partners makes these stories happen, so THANK YOU #Conservation #Congo #Gabon #Gorillas #ThirdSector #Charity #Animals #Rewild #BackToTheWild
