Our very own CMO, Juan Pellerano-Rendón, joined NPR to weigh in on the upcoming removal of the De Minimis clause—set to take effect on May 2nd. This long-standing exemption has allowed imports under $800 to bypass duties and fees, powering growth for ecommerce giants like Shein and Temu. But with that loophole closing, U.S. companies will soon face: 🔺 Higher operating costs 🔺 Disrupted global supply chains 🔺 Price increases for American consumers It’s a major shift for cross-border commerce—and Swap is here to help brands stay ahead of the changes. 🔗 Listen to the full NPR segment: https://lnkd.in/esEk5dvk 🔗 Book a demo: https://lnkd.in/d92X5wiW 🔗 Download our Tariff Turmoil Report: https://lnkd.in/eSJqEbHZ

Helping retailers to grow online through elevated Try at Home shopping experiences | GTM, Growth & Expansion Strategy @ Harper

This morning, Harper had the pleasure of hosting the first of our ongoing breakfast series alongside our friends at Swap. We wanted to bring together industry leaders and provide an opportunity to share and learn from each other on pressing topics. The topic that is top of mind for everyone was Global Expansion & International Trading - the challenges, the opportunities, and everything in between. What stood out the most? The sheer complexity of scaling internationally while staying agile, authentic, and profitable especially in the current ever-changing economic environment. A few key takeaways: 🇺🇸 US Tariffs & Trade – With shifting regulations, brands are having to rethink their approach to logistics, warehousing, and rising costs. Previous strategies for scaling profitably into the US are being tested by recent tariff changes, forcing retailers to stay agile and adaptive. Another key challenge? Striking the right balance between authenticity and transparency for US customers - without compromising conversion or performance. 🇯🇵 Japan – An exciting market but one with no shortcuts. Entering the market successfully means deep cultural understanding, strong brand recognition, and strategic partnerships with influencers. Additionally, how to ensure sound content translation in a scalable way... and AI tools that are trying to help with this (relevant across all markets). 🇦🇺 Australia – A market that historically has had less focus due to its distance but where many brands are seeing organic growth. A question asked was: how to balance investment in major markets like the US while not missing out on the potential of smaller, high-growth regions? 🇳🇱🇸🇪 Netherlands & Scandinavia – From logistics to consumer demand, these markets are becoming increasingly attractive for global retailers. There’s a lot of potential here, and it’s fascinating to see brands taking advantage. What really struck me was the common theme across all discussions: uncertainty is the new normal. The ability to pivot, safeguard operations, and remain two steps ahead will define success in 2025 and beyond. Ultimately, a super insightful morning so a huge thank you to all the amazing people that came to join us!
