Change is afoot here at SunLife! What does 50 and beyond *really* look like today? How can we challenge stereotypes and recognise that being a certain age doesn’t mean you have to behave a certain way? Well, our brand-new TV ads explore exactly that – customers doing what makes them happy (with an injection of humour and surprise). This is what a little confidence boost from getting a SunLife plan can do to you 💪 Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come… #ALittleConfidenceGoesALong Way #EverydayConfidence #brand

According to the World Economic Forum, it will take until 2158 to reach full gender equality. But collectively across the globe, we can all take steps to #AccelerateAction 💪 This week, we were fundraising for One25, an incredible Bristol-based charity that supports women from crisis to independence. #IWD2025 #InternationalWomensDay #InternationalWomensDay2025

Funeral costs are once again outpacing inflation and have reached an all-time high, according to SunLife's 21st #CostofDying report, published today. The cost of a simple, attended funeral has risen 3.5% YoY, to £4,285. Even the most affordable funeral option, an unattended or 'direct' cremation, has increased 6.7% to £1,597. And this doesn't include the cost of a service or celebration of life, which 9 in 10 direct cremation organisers go on to hold separately. With only 38% of the deceased putting enough provision in place to cover the full cost of their funeral, 1 in 5 funeral organisers report notable financial concern. This highlights the ongoing need for more open conversations between families about what we do and don't want for our funerals, and where we expect the money to come from. Ian Cooper, SunLife Commercial and Partnerships Director, commented: “Whether you’re grieving, struggling with your mental health, or suffering from a physical health problem such as cancer or long COVID, having a registered nurse to guide you through the twists and turns can be invaluable.” What’s more, RedArc’s service is professional, compassionate and free – both for customers and their families – for as long as they need it. #customerbenefits #over50slifeinsurance

Do you think enjoying #retirement is more important than leaving an #inheritance? Our latest Life Well Spent #research has found that attitudes are changing: 💸While most people over 50 still prioritise leaving an inheritance over spending in retirement... 👛...adult children would prefer parents to spend their money – even if it means no inheritance for them. With people living longer, more funds are needed to fund retirement, and children are more likely to already be financially stable by the time they would inherit. https://lnkd.in/dAi9E75A

Working parents across the UK will save over £7bn in #childcare costs this summer holidays, thanks to heroic grandparents. Our latest #research found 43% of the UK’s 14 million grandparents look after their grandchildren over school holidays, offering an average of 18 hours of support a week (+8% since 2023). Mark Screeton comments: “Holiday clubs can be really expensive, and childminders or nannies even more so. So it’s lucky that so many parents are able to rely on grandparents to help out. 43% tell us they are looking after their grandchildren in the school holidays – up from 37% last year – which could be saving families hundreds or even thousands across the school year.” https://lnkd.in/eyM86cvR
