I have been lucky to invest in 9 unicorn founders and they all share one trait. An unwavering focus on their company being their life mission. They do not do other s***. They do not have a "next project or company". This is their life's work. One of the most memorable moments of the last 12 months for me was when I told Chris Parsonson that we would not be able to pay the price he wanted but would love to find a way to work with him in the future. He told me, "there would not be another company and this was his life's work". So it was now or never. I felt the intensity, the passion and the commitment. Yes, the company is profitable, with an amazing product that some of the world's largest companies and legal firms love but his commitment and obsession was the clincher. Solve Intelligence has raised $12M in Series A funding to build AI for patents. Founded by Chris Parsonson, Sanj Ahilan, and Angus Parsonson, Solve Intelligence is the go-to platform to help inventors, in-house IP teams, and outside legal counsels collaborate across every part of the patent process. Since their launch in 2023, Solve’s ARR has grown 25% month-on-month with 0 sales or marketing people. All growth has been organic, with an intense focus on building the best product on the market. Today, 200+ IP teams across the US, Europe, and Asia are using Solve’s software— and their customers include top global law firms like DLA Piper and enterprises like Siemens. Legal professionals use Solve Intelligence to deliver higher-quality output for their clients more efficiently. Technology companies use Solve’s platform to ensure complete confidentiality of their data while empowering their legal counsel to swiftly produce and manage high-quality patents. Solve’s platform integrates with Word, templates, and external legal sources. Its AI assists with invention harvesting, patent application drafting, office action responses, freedom-to-operate analysis, claim charting, licensing, litigation, and more. Excited to share that Solve Intelligence has raised a $12M Series A led by 20VC (Harry Stebbings) with strategic investment from Microsoft (M12, Microsoft's Venture Fund) and Thomson Reuters (Thomson Reuters Ventures)! We started Solve 18 months ago to bring AI to the $150B+ patent industry. There’s still so much to build.
