We are delighted to announce that Singular Photonics has achieved a significant milestone by receiving CE mark certification for our advanced SPAD-based image sensing products, including our Sirona and Andarta sensors. 😎 Securing this certification is a crucial external validation of our technology and allows us to commercialize our sensors within the European Economic Area (EEA). The CE mark signifies that Singular Photonics' products meet the stringent safety, health, and environmental protection standards required by the European Union, enabling them to be sold freely across the EEA without additional regulatory barriers. Achieving CE mark status underscores our commitment to product safety and regulatory compliance. By obtaining this certification, we are showing that we take our responsibilities seriously, ensuring that our SPAD-based sensors adhere to the highest standards of quality and reliability. This is particularly important in our work with OEM customers – including some of the world’s largest and most demanding electronics equipment companies – who expect nothing less of their suppliers than full compliance with international standards. “Securing the CE mark is more than just a regulatory requirement; it is a strategic asset,” said our CEO, Shahida Imani. “It not only facilitates seamless market access across 33 countries in the EEA but also boosts our credibility and competitiveness in a key emerging market. The certification will simplify trade processes, reduce liability risks, and enhance confidence in the safety and efficacy of our products.” For more info about our sensors, check out our web site: https://lnkd.in/enFKVwB7 #sensors #SPAD #electronics #semiconductors #photonics #imaging
About us
A fabless SPAD image sensor company emerging from the labs of SPAD digital imaging pioneer Prof Robert Henderson, Chair of Electronic Imaging at the University of Edinburgh, Singular is the first company to bring advanced computation to SPAD-based image sensors. Our approach transforms SPAD sensors into computational engines capable of performing a wide range of sophisticated tasks, such as real-time photon counting, timing, and advanced processing techniques like autocorrelation. Our 3D stacked sensors have broad applicability, from imaging in the scientific and medical fields, and much more beyond.

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Did you know our sensors are named after Celtic deities? 𝗦𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮 is inspired by the 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 – and just like her, our technology is on a mission to improve human health and well-being. 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 is traditionally interpreted as meaning ‘𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳’ or ‘𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳’, embodying strength and resilience – a perfect name for our sensor that delivers robust performance and unwavering reliability. 💪 We’ve already named our next sensor (coming soon!) but what other divine names should we consider for future products? Drop your ideas below! ⬇️ #technology #FunFact #innovation

Meet our sensors: Andarta Continuing our whirlwind tour of our commercially available SPAD-based image sensors, this week we’d like to introduce you to Andarta. Developed in collaboration with Meta, the Andarta is a 512×512 SPAD array incorporating extensive preprocessing of data, offering unparalleled flexibility and scalability in imaging. Incorporating several photon acquisition modes implemented in the latest 3D-stacked CMOS technology, the sensor is ideal for correlation spectroscopy applications. Check out the datasheet here: https://lnkd.in/eEpH5uh5 The Andarta sensor uses advanced 3D-stacked backside illuminated SPAD technology to provide enhancements in detection efficiency, and to enable densely populated logic layers to deliver embedded pixel-parallel computation of autocorrelation. The sensor is capable of characterizing motion of scattering particles such as red blood cells in tissue, enabling cerebral blood flow monitoring applications, which can provide important indicators of brain health. See how the Andarta enables diffuse correlation spectroscopy in our recent whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/eUXGGSXP #electronics #photonics #imaging #sensors #SPADs #spectroscopy #semiconductors

Meet our sensors: Sirona Now that dust has settled a little following our launch, we thought we’d take the opportunity to introduce our currently available products, starting with our very first SPAD-based image sensor: Sirona. The Sirona is a 512-pixel line sensor, with two different types of SPADs in each pixel making it ideal for time-resolved multispectral beam scanned imaging and microscopy. Check out the datasheet here: https://lnkd.in/emGhcdKu With on-chip time binning capability, this sensor is set to revolutionise spectroscopy as we know it today, supporting in-pixel CMOS construction of time-resolved spectral histograms in each of up to 512 spectral channels, with up to 50ps time resolution. See how the Sirona enables time-resolved Raman spectroscopy and imaging in our recent whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/epRcb84A Stay tuned for more about our growing family of SPAD-powered sensors... #imaging #sensors #SPAD #spectroscopy

🎵 Happy birthday to us! 🥳 Following an incredible debut at Photonics West last week, Singular Photonics has turned one year old! We even had a little cake to celebrate… which we shared with our fellow 'photoneers' in the UK Pavilion. 🎂 And what a year it has been – putting together an amazing team and launching the first products in our family of SPAD-based image sensors and cameras. We’ve come a long way in our first 12 months, but there’s so much more to come. Stay tuned – 2025 is going to be a big year!

Hello world! Finally, the wait is over! We've been quiet for a while but today we officially step out of stealth mode, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to reveal what we’ve been up to. It has been a very busy 11 months and there have been some really exciting developments we can’t wait to share. With deep roots in the world-leading CMOS Sensors and Systems Group at the The University of Edinburgh (led by SPAD technology pioneer, Professor Robert Henderson), we are launching a new generation of image sensors based on single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs). Our core innovation lies in the detection of single photons and advanced digital processing within the sensor itself. Our family of sensors execute optical signal processing rapidly and efficiently, with minimal data transfer and power consumption. Check out the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dMFWF_5f Of course, there is no better show in the world to showcase our new sensors and imaging cameras than Photonics West 2025. We will be exhibiting from 28-30 January at the main conference. Please do come and say hello at Booth 5017, UK Pavilion! #PhotonicsWest #photonics #imaging #SPADs #semiconductors #sensors SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics
