🍃Energy Transition: A Scottish Perspective🍃 On Tuesday 29 April 2025, we will be holding an event in collaboration with WISTA UK, from 5pm-8pm, hosted at the Northern Lighthouse Board offices in Edinburgh. This is our second event with WISTA UK and we are delighted to be working alongside them again to deliver another event which will include a wealth of amazing women in maritime. The event will feature speakers discussing sustainable energy practices within the maritime industry, followed by a networking drinks reception. 🍃Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Phase 6🍃 Yesterday, in collaboration with Innovate UK and the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, we held an online event to discuss the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Phase 6 (CMDC6). For those who were unable to join, the recording of this virtual meeting can now be viewed via our YouTube channel (see link below). As a reminder, the CMDC6 allows registered organisations to apply for a portion of up to £30 million for innovative Smart Shipping technologies and skills for maritime decarbonisation. This funding is provided by the Department for Transport. Please note that the competition closes on Wednesday 16 April 2025 11:00am. 📢SMC CMDC6 Virtual Event💻🍃 On Thursday 16 January 2025, the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom announced the sixth round of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC6), which will allocate up to £30m for pre-deployment trials and feasibility studies in clean maritime solutions between September 2025 and March 2026. The National Shipbuilding Office is committed to ensuring continued R&D support for UK shipbuilding which will allow the enterprise to maximise the global maritime decarbonisation opportunity. The application window for CMDC6 opened on 24 January and will close on 16 April 2025. We are looking to hold a virtual session with our members on Thursday 13 March from 10am to 11:30am in collaboration with Innovate UK and the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom. 📢Exciting announcement!✨ We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded funding from the Maritime Cluster Development Fund, courtesy of the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom! Now, the real work begins. We will soon be reaching out to our members who have generously agreed to provide both in-kind and financial support. The Maritime Cluster Development Fund will enable us to initiate a series of schools outreach programmes across Scotland, focusing on skills development. We will also be creating a 'Maritime Toolkit' to promote maritime careers, informing young people about the incredible opportunities available in this field.
