The Australian Distillers Association joins our Scotch whisky colleagues in calling for the Australian Government to work with industry on the creation of product integrity measures. “The current definitions for whisky and other spirits date back to Federation and are no longer fit for purpose," says chief executive Paul McLeay. “As the Australian distilling industry has grown and consumers become more savvy and discerning, there is growing recognition that Australia is lagging other markets that have recognised the importance of technical standards for spirits."
