🐣 This Easter, let’s put hens on the agenda... not just chocolate eggs! While many of us focus on chocolate, the UK will consume more real eggs than the 80 million chocolate ones sold this season. But here’s the hard truth... 1 in 5 eggs still come from caged hens. At RSPCA Assured, we believe Easter is the perfect opportunity to talk about where our food comes from and how choosing higher welfare eggs can make a real difference. Read our latest blog to explore how together, we can inspire the next generation to care about animal welfare 👇 #RSPCA #RSPCAAssured #AnimalWelfare #Easter #Farming #EasterActivites #SchoolHolidays

In April 2026, the Animal Welfare (Primate Licences) (England) Regulations 2023 will come into force in England. The new law will introduce a licensing scheme which will set out strict requirements on those keeping primates as pets 🐒 Although we welcome this new law, we believe that the UK Government needs to do more to communicate the impact of the new regulations, and to make arrangements for pet monkeys that will no longer legally be able to stay with their owners. It's estimated that as many as 5,000 monkeys are being kept as pets across the country, and without giving owners clearer direction, many could face being abandoned. Find out why why we have long been calling for a ban on buying, selling and keeping primates as pets: https://bit.ly/3XPVeJg

Across the UK, millions of farmed animals are confined to cages, unable to engage in their natural behaviours 😞 This causes intense and prolonged suffering, and many will spend their entire lives without ever feeling sunlight or having the space to move freely. Cramped and often unclean, their cages offer barely enough room to turn around, let alone stretch their legs or wings. This Easter, take a stand for a kinder, cage-free future. Here's how: https://bit.ly/4iJ2rmM
