We're offering free mental health training to MPs. 💡 Research has shown high levels of mental ill-heath among MP's staff, with half of them reporting similar levels of distress to emergency service workers. There is no standardised level of training in Parliament, meaning that support varies by MP. This has lead to staff burnout and isolation becoming commonplace. MPs will have access to our Making Every Contact Count (MECC) for Mental Health training, which teaches people to sensitively bring up mental health during everyday conversations with the aim of supporting staff or signposting to further services. 👉 We want to make sure everyone has access to a minimum level of workplace health support. That's why we're calling for the introduction of a national Health and Work Standard. Find out more: https://ow.ly/C0Cb50VxwR7

Creative and cultural activities can play a significant role in the prevention of ill-health. They can help people adopt healthier lifestyles, manage chronic diseases, and reduce health inequalities. The benefits of creative health should be accessible to everyone. We're looking for submissions to a special issue on the role of creative health in public health in our journal, Perspectives in Public Health, with National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH) and Arts Council England. Submissions can include: ➡️ How creative health interventions can be applied in public health settings and systems ➡️ The role of creativity in social inclusion and community development ➡️ Models for integrating creative health into public health systems and policies Find out more and submit your article by 1 September 2025: https://ow.ly/kr6650VwxqK

From housing, to money, to the communities surrounding you, there are lots of things that affect your ability to live a healthy life. 🏡💳🏙️ Often, we need help to address these factors and make sure they aren’t negatively impacting our health. That’s where social prescribing comes in. 🌱 Social prescribing helps connect people to non-medical support to address the wider determinants of health, tackling the causes of ill-health rather than just treating the symptoms. In this blog, our Chief Executive, William Roberts, celebrates the importance of social prescribing in improving health: https://ow.ly/LEOh50ViXM4
