25 years of responsible agricultural production & sourcing that delivers positive outcomes for people, nature & climate.

About us

Proforest is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation with global presence that has established itself as a leader in the development and implementation of sustainable production and sourcing of agricultural and forestry commodities, including soy, sugar, palm oil, cocoa, beef and timber. We support agricultural and forestry production and sourcing that delivers positive outcomes for people, nature and climate through supporting companies, effective collaboration and developing knowledge and capacity building. Within and beyond supply chains, we work with companies, government departments, non-governmental and civil society organizations, to have positive social and environmental outcomes in the places where commodities are produced. These positive outcomes provide the compass for all our work, including protecting and restoring forests and natural ecosystems, conserving biodiversity, advancing gender equality and respecting human rights. • Read this really interesting post from Proforest's Intan Ningsih on her work with the Siak Pelalawan Landscape Programme in Indonesia with our partners Daemeter, local village facilitators, local government and sourcing companies. It's a real insight into the work they do to build trust and open dialogue between all parties to make this landscape programme such a success.

Strengthening Systems — and Ourselves 🌿💪🧠💛 This week, I had the opportunity to join a workshop under the Siak Pelalawan Landscape Program (SPLP) We explored: 🌐 Effective Collaboration 🧩 System Mapping 👥 Foundations of meaningful peer support groups We also had the honor of meeting with the Bupati of Pelalawan, deepening our alignment with local leadership. In both Siak and Pelalawan, we conducted Effective Collaborative Action (ECA) workshops with the Multistakeholder Forums, focusing on inclusive dialogue and joint problem-solving. Later, we held a dedicated workshop on using the ECA approach to achieve Jurisdictional Deforestation Risk Mitigation, working closely with village facilitators to ground the tools in local realities. What stayed with me most were the human elements that truly enable collaboration: 🤝 Trust 👂 Active listening 💛 Empathy 🌈 Understanding 🙏 Respect These values aren’t just useful in the field — they’re deeply connected to my own path in sustainability, leadership, and even calisthenics. Whether it’s working on landscape transformation or guiding someone through a pull-up progression, I’m learning just how essential it is to bring our mind, body, and emotions into alignment. A strong body grounds us. A calm mind gives clarity. An open heart connects us. Every rep, every dialogue, every shared silence — it all matters. Grateful for the thoughtful facilitation and guidance during the session — thank you to Dr. Maria Soledad Riestra (She/Her), the master trainer, for creating such an open and empowering space to learn together, and to Mba Paramita Mentari Kesuma, Mba Risna Gultom, Mas Jimmy Wilopo, and Ibrahim Gulagnar. • We are proud to work closely with The Centre for Child Rights and Business to reduce forced and child labour in Malaysia's palm oil industry. Their 2024 annual report provides a recap of the activities and initiatives taken to address labour issues.

🎉 𝗪𝗲'𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁! Marking 15 years of growth, this report highlights our 2024 progress in helping businesses identify and address child rights and human rights risks in their supply chains while driving tangible, positive change in people’s lives. In a time of global uncertainty, this report is an important reminder that human rights due diligence isn’t just an ethical responsibility—it’s an investment in stronger, more sustainable supply chains. When businesses support supply chain partners (including those in lower tiers), workers, children and communities, they create resilient operations, reduced risks and lasting impact. This matters more than ever. But, as any critical reader of this report will find, there’s still so much to do. Children and families still face so many struggles, compounded by deep-rooted challenges that can only be tackled through collaboration. In the words of The Centre's CEO Ines Kaempfer, this report "is an invitation to act". Join us in achieving more! Download the report via our website here: https://lnkd.in/ggXdQYjT A huge thank you to our clients for trusting us, and to our partners whose contribution is invaluable! #Proforest #proforestImpact #BiodiversityConservation #SustainableAgriculture
