We advance children's rights and equality for girls around the world.
About us
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children's rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child, but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected. Working with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children's rights from birth to adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries. We won't stop until we are all equal.

"It is important to be able to encourage other girls who are afraid to use their voices to pursue their goals and rights as girls. You have to fight for what you want, never give up and always demand respect." says Raylânna, who is determined to fight for the rights of all girls and women in society 💪🏽

"It’s very sad and emotional to see people’s faces with fear. I am at a loss of words after seeing the houses burned to ashes after earthquakes" reported Su Ei, DRR Manager at Plan International Myanmar. On the morning of March 28th, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck #Myanmar, causing widespread destruction across multiple regions We know that emergencies turn children’s lives upside down and that adolescent girls are one of the groups most at risk when disasters strike. We’re urging you to donate and help support the most vulnerable communities affected by this emergency. The time to act is now. https://lnkd.in/eh7pfUHZ

“Invest in peace. Invest in people. Invest NOW.” 🙌🏾 - Sadeen, 21, from Jordan, is a passionate advocate for #GenderEquality. At #CSW69, she delivered a powerful speech to decision-makers urging to them to take action to advance girls’ rights. She doesn’t want to see anymore well-crafted statements, she wants to see outrage, and action. Now 💪🏾

Nearly half of the world’s population elected a new government last year. With estimates saying it will take another five generations to achieve gender equality; we urge all governments to prioritise girls & stand firm on realising & protecting girls’ rights. #UntilWeAreAllEqual

Lucivanne, 17, and Maria Fernanda, 15, face many difficulties accessing water in their community which greatly hinders the growth of trees and crops. This #ClimateEmergency will continue to make gender inequality worse. This #WorldWaterDay, we want to see girls and women take the lead in climate decision making 💚 💧
