If you work in the events industry, the Big Survey Event is 🚨unmissable🚨 – here’s why: ⓵ It's history in the making This is the first ever dedicated event digging into the lived experiences of women across all corners of the events industry – from junior freelancers to venue owners. The content for the event is based on the voices of 600+ real women who’ve shared what’s really going on behind the scenes in a first-of-its-kind study. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that? ⓶ The report itself is disruptive The Big Survey reported: > 10% of respondents have experienced sexual assault. > Only 8% are in director-level roles. > And a whopping 57% feel their income does not fairly reflect their work This is industry-defining data – and the conversation around it will shape policies, influence leaders, and (hopefully) light a fire in decision-makers. Being in the room means being part of that push for a fairer industry. ⓷ It’s a space to be heard, not just talked at The event content is designed to be interactive – to shine a light on real experiences, and invite others to share their own. Whether you’ve got horror stories, practical advice, or big ideas on how we can improve, this is a space to speak up and connect with others who get it. ⓸ You’ll find your people Our post-event drinks aren't a throwaway afterthought – they’re a key part of the night. It’s a chance for you to meet allies, collaborators, potential partners or mentors who are striving for the same change you are. For venue owners and business heads, it’s an opportunity to hear directly from the women shaping the future of the industry (and maybe hire them before someone else does!). ⓹ It’s not a moan-fest – it’s a movement Yes, we’re angry. But we’re also patient. The Big Survey event isn’t about shaming the industry – it’s about gathering solutions to fix it. And being there shows your team, your clients, your peers (and yourself) that you give a shit about equality in events. 📆 The event is happening on Friday 9th May at Sustainable Ventures in London. We're so grateful to have such an inspiring collection of female leaders joining us at this event 💜 Sylvia Oates CBII Nancy Skipper Gaby Cartwright Jess S Elizabeth Pickering Emma Abson, PhD KT Sonnen Elizabeth Heron Gemma Summers-Green 💜 #EventProfs #Events #Equality

We at NOWIE are appalled by the Supreme Court’s ruling yesterday, which states that the legal definition of a “woman” under the Equality Act applies only to those assigned female at birth. This decision is rooted in transphobia. It not only endangers trans people, but undermines the safety, rights and dignity of all women. The court also took it upon itself to define what it means to be a lesbian — a move that was deeply offensive, completely unnecessary, and incredible reductive and harmful. NOWIE stands with, and sends our unwavering solidarity to, trans communities across the UK. Trans people have long faced relentless discrimination — but in recent years, their very existence has become the subject of political debate, clickbait campaigns and media scrutiny. In that time, anti-trans hate crimes have tripled, with the number of reports rising by 186% in the last five years. This is a dark day for equality. But our commitment remains clear: NOWIE will always be a space where trans women, trans men and non-binary people are safe, seen, and supported. And we will continue to strive for an industry where everyone is equal and respected. The fight is far from over. Love, NOWIE x #Equality #EqualRights

Over the last 12 months, we've been carrying out a national study into the mental health challenges faced by those working behind the scenes in live events — from venue managers to event organisers and production teams. Our aim? To drive real change and strengthen support where it’s needed most. Now, that study is coming to an end - Don't miss your chance to have your say! 📆 The deadline to contribute is Monday 14th April at 11:59pm. 🧠 We’ll be releasing the findings during Mental Health Awareness Week 2025. By sharing your experiences, you’ll help shape future well-being initiatives designed specifically for our industry. 👉 Take part in the survey: https://lnkd.in/eUR9kfWj #Skiddle #TicketingDoneBetter #SellTickets #EventIndustry #MentalHealthInEvents #IndustryWellbeing #SkiddleResearch #MentalHealthAwareness #LiveEventsSupport #MusicIndustryMatters #WorkplaceWellbeing

It’s been very hard to keep this a secret… 🤫 INTRODUCING our new ticketing partner: Skiddle. We’re BEYOND excited about this new partnership. NOWIE is growing faster each month – so it was about time our ticketing got an upgrade. And what an upgrade it is! 💬 “Partnering with Skiddle marks a huge step forward for NOWIE. It’s more than just ticketing; it’s about creating better, smoother, more accessible experiences. As we grow, we need platforms that match our ambition – and Skiddle does just that. We’re so excited to see what this opens up for our community.” – Cat Kevern, Director at NOWIE. 💬 “We’re thrilled to be partnering with NOWIE and supporting their work to empower women in the events industry. There are still many barriers faced by women, and at Skiddle, we believe in making events accessible and inclusive, both on stage and behind the scenes.” – Richard Dyer, Co-Founder at Skiddle We can’t wait to see the impact this has on our events and the community as a whole. 💜
