It was out pleasure to host the MTSG - Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group last night as they undertook their cake decorating session! Everyone was very focused on honing their artist skills on some wonderful Valentine’s Day bakes. Some great efforts and it was lovely to see you all!

Last week I was able to play panel host at The Manchester Metropolitan University for a session about routes into law and life as a trainee solicitor. I was joined by my MTSG - Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group education co-directors Lauren-Anne Hicks and Nabeel Mirza discussing their careers thus far, and special guest William Stobart who detailed his own route to being an associate through CILEX. We discussed a lot of tips but the key takeaways are resilience, enthusiasm, and research when applying for training contracts, vacation schemes, or if you will think outside the traditional trainee box to become a solicitor in an alternative way. Thank you to Nick Touati for organising and to all attendees for asking such good questions in the session, the follow-ups, and for the photos shared here.
